Consurrence

Scripture

We can make our plans,
but the Lord determines our steps.

~Proverbs 16:9, NLT

Quote

God has conspired to overcome evil with good in human history via the process; not suddenly or instantaneously.

~Dallas Willard

In this modern age of reason people think that either God is in absolute control of history or that man is free to choose his own course. What blows the world’s mind is that both are true. Theologians call this paradox concurrence. I will give you an example: Jesus death on the cross was foreordained {Acts 2:23} yet those who conspired to crucify Him and all those who took part are guilty of murder and will be held accountable. The God who created us gave us a brain. We have the ability to make plans and choices. We should learn early in life that bad choices produce bad consequences. It is also true that those who plan nothing do exactly that, nothing. Matter of fact the scripture teaches us that it is foolish not to plan.

We humans think in terms of time and space. We see everything through the prism of time: God has an eternal and infinite perspective. There is no way you and I can understand all that He does. As a matter of fact, if it were not for revelation, we would understand very little. People who try to out think God and reconcile this paradox {concurrence} end up on one of two extremes. The hyper-Calvinist believe that God controls everything in such a way that man has no choice. This leads to extreme arrogance and passivity. When you go to this extreme, God is responsible for everything including sin and evil. It is not hard to spot a Calvinist, they are the ones with big heads. They go to seed on worship, bible study and social ministries. They totally neglect evangelism and missions. They are extremely introverted. They cater to man’s pride. You might say, they are on an ego trip.

Of course, one can go to the opposite extreme which is a form of humanism. If you believe that everything depends on you, there is going to be a lot of anxiety in your life. Why not accept the whole counsel of God and the fact that He is in ultimate control and that we are responsible for the decisions we make. Accept the paradox. Don’t feel the need to explain everything or have an answer for everything. Accept the fact that we humans are limited in our understanding and there are certain things that God has not revealed. One of those things is the return of Christ. Put into practice what you know and understand: Love God with all your heart and your neighbor as much as you love yourself. Take Micah’s advice; Do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

I went just the other side of Double Springs yesterday morning to pick up a load of lumber {6 thousands pounds}. I was refreshed as I drove through Addison and then 278 to Double Springs. There were TRUMP signs everywhere. I was wearing all my TRUMP attire and I got a royal welcome at the Jack’s in Double Springs. The man I dealt with at the lumber yard was also a huge Trump supporter. I promise you, the dems have something up their sleeve. It may be voting by mail or some sort of voter fraud which they are famous for doing. They are going to pull something out of their bag of tricks. They haven’t slandered Tuberville yet but they will come up with something. I don’t think they intend to let Biden be the president if he wins. The crazy woman from California will be the president. I say all this hoping that I am wrong.

I may move to the free State of Winston if Biden is elected. I think they might be willing to succeed from the Union. I don’t think Winston County has a Walmart which would be another good reason to live there.
