Every Little Bit Counts

Scripture

And though you started with littleyou will end with much.

~Job 8:7, NLT

Quote

Little Is Much When God Is In It!
Labour Not For Wealth Or Fame.
There’s A Crown And You Can Win It,
If You Go In Jesus’ Name.

I don’t do many human interest stories although they are much more popular than a devotional thought. What I am saying is: I would do them if I had the time to do the research required. Every now and then, one comes along or to mind. Last night I heard a heart warming testimony from a man who is 63 years old. In 1998 he started a mission organization in Guatemala. He began with three acres and a few hundred dollars. Today, this mission organization has 11 acres and a budget of one half million dollars. I don’t think anyone knows how many people are being helped and have been helped by this ministry. I can assure you it is in the thousands and very possibly may be in the millions one day. What makes this story so interesting to you and I is the fact that this man grew up in Danville; he graduated Danville High School. As Paul Harvey used to say, “Now, for the rest of the story.”

Although this man had a believing mother, his father was not a believer. Matter of fact, you might say he was a persecutor of the church. He didn’t like preachers, churches or Jesus. He would not take the wife and children to church and would not allow them to use the one vehicle the family owned. A school teacher, who lived less than a mile to the East and very near where June and I live, stopped by every Sunday morning and carried these children and their mother to church. She also picked them up for Sunday night, Wednesday night and revival services. These children grew up under the influence of the church because this dedicated woman was faithful to pick them up every time she went to church, and unless she was sick, she was at church. The teacher was miss Katherine Edwards. Miss Katherine was never recognized or rewarded here on earth, not to my knowledge, but think of the celebration in heaven when all the children she lead to Jesus or reunited. Little is much if God is in it.

On the way home from the meeting last night, I thought to myself, I have to share Teddy’s testimony with Mary and then I thought, why limit this touching testimony to Mary, why not share it with your readers. Miss Katherine was our neighbor briefly. After Ray’s stroke, I cut her yard. June and I have lived on the Edwards estate for more than 20 years which is longer than we have lived anywhere. We are indebted to the Edwards family. No one is this world has been kinder to us. Mary is our landlord and she is a good one. So today’s blog is a tribute to the entire Edwards clan. I have never known a better man than Ray Edwards.

Continue to pray for Lincoln Kallas {15 years old} who is in St. Judes. He has had a difficult week. Pray for all those battling cancer. Pray for the REVIVAL service Sunday night at Mount Zion where Dr. Spencer Bell is the senior pastor. {some one call Spencer and tell him his name is in the blog}

TGIF… Lori left smiling this morning…she loves Fridays. I think everyone loves Friday. Have a great day and thanks for reading the blog.
