Global Warming

Scripture

But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very elements themselves will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be found to deserve judgment.

~2 Peter 3:10, NLT

Quote

Global warming is scriptural but God will do it by an atomic implosion. Man will not create it; so spray away, walk on the grass, kill a deer and drill for oil.

~John MacArthur

I had never thought about it before but evil exist in more ways than one. John MacArthur has four kinds of evil and certainly there are at least three. [1] Natural evil [2] Moral evil [3] Supernatural evil [4] Eternal Evil {hell}. Natural evil is things like storms, tsunamis, earthquakes, disease, viruses, death, decay, etc. If you think covid is bad, research the pig flu, the influenza flu of 1918 where 100 million died world wide. The pig flu was lethal to the young and healthy. This lethal virus could turn your immune system against you and make it the executioner. I don’t really understand how these virus work but they only have a half life and they have to attack themselves to living cells to survive. One thing is sure, they are bad. I can’t really think of any sickness that is good. How do we explain natural evil? We can’t. All we know is that the entire creation is under a curse due to sin and the world we live in presently is not safe nor ideal. Moral evil is not that hard to understand. I like what Isaiah said in chapter 64:6, We are all infected and impure with sin. When we display our righteous deeds, they are nothing but filthy rags. Like autumn leaves, we wither and fall, and our sins sweep us away like the wind. Moral evil is within us; it is inherent. Supernatural evil is the realm of the demonic which is above and beyond. All we know is that Satan is real, he has many followers and they have different ranks. Paul said in Ephesians 6, For our struggle is not against enemies of blood and flesh, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. This evil is organized with Satan at the top and it is relentless. The Jews often compared this evil to the sea and the waves. The waves relentless pound the beach and churn dirt and debris. Imagine how Job felt as he got pounded by the devil.

It is interesting to note: no religion has a solution for sin and evil. Only God can deliver us from evil and He does it through Christ who suffered because of evil. Christianity offers things that religions do not: [1] We address the sin problem and offer a solution {Jesus}. [2] In biblical Christianity, God takes the initiative to save us–in religion, man takes the initiative to appease god. [3] Christ offers us a personal relationship. No religion offers a personal relationship or communion with their god. Muslim believe that Allah is distant and filled with anger. [4] Christians have hymn books. The hymn book of the Jews was the Psalms. Christians sing, most religions do not sing. The Mormons’ would be an exception but they are trying to convince the world that they are Christian.

Jerry Rankin was the President of the IMB for over a decade; on one of his many trips {He has been in 157 countries} they visited a Buddist monastery. They interacted with the monks. Before departing the Christians sang a couple of hymns for the Monks and then they asks the monks to sing some of their songs. The monks responded, we have no songs.

The rain got here before expected and I got soaking wet trying to help Seth get a fallen tree out of his yard but we got’er done PTL. We are in our third day of the Winter Bible Study at my home church. They are the only church I know that does a January Bible Study. To be honest, I am shocked that LifeWay still prints a book. We are having a good time. We got to enjoy supper with old friends last night. Time is flying and every time I go back home, I am a amazed at how they are aging. LOL

I have to study today: I’m a little behind so pray that I will not be interrupted. I have had two straight night so headaches so pray that I can have a good day in the study. My brain felt fried last night. I need some freshness and a lot of inspiration.

Have a good day and thanks for reading the blog.
