Sin Fractures

Scripture

And this is the plan: At the right time He will bring everything together under the authority of Christ—everything in heaven and on earth.

~Ephesians 1:10, NLT

Quote

Christ is the dynamic dynamo that will bring healing to this fractured universe.

~Ya’akov

We live in a broken or fractured world. This world is out of joint, broken, messed up and there is an obvious limp in our walk because of this fracture. We all know there is a problem: even liberals, with their limited intelligence know there is a problem. Their problem is–“they think they can fix the problem.” They come up with these cockamamie solutions that are not solutions at all: they only exaggerate the problem and make everything worse. I know this sounds like an over simplification but Jesus is the answer. Paul said, “God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself.”

God’s plan is to heal the universe; to heal the fracture, to bring everything together in Christ. Jesus is the energy and force that will bring it all about. We have never reached our potential because we are broken; we know more than we do. Hard as we try, we don’t practice what we preach. There is a fracture between knowledge and practice. Something happened last week that rarely happens: two blog readers responded with words of affirmation within an hour of posting. I blogged about the sovereignty of God. They both confessed that they needed to hear it and I told them, I was preaching to myself. In my mind I know that God is sovereign but if you watched my behavior you would wonder. I do not want to doubt or to have fear but this is a part of my brokenness.

Now for the gospel, the good news and I do love good news. God has a plan for fixing us, or healing the fracture. He knew from the beginning that we would not be able to fix ourselves. I can’t set a broken arm or leg: I must go to a doctor for this service. He will do the setting; my part is to sit patiently while he works. Jesus is going to bring healing to our lives. He is the Great Physician. He does not have to have your help; merely your cooperation. He will bring everything together, not just here on earth but in all creation. I guess it boils down to how much confidence we have in Jesus. I for one think that He is capable of reconciling this broken world. I am excited that He is both willing and able to do it.

I praise the LORD for a very good day yesterday. We had 31 cars at GP which is not bad. I thought we would beat the heat by meeting at 8:30 but I was wrong. The sun popped out and it got warm in a hurry. Next week Dale will sing at 8:30 sharp. I want to try that before moving the time start. We are also considering ways we might use the shade. Everything went well and we are thankful.
