C.S. Lewis wrote a space trilogy back in the 1940’s: Out of the Silent Planet, Perelandra, That Hideous Strength. All three are satires on the PROGRESSIVE movement. They describe the present day Democratic Party. That Hideous Strength is the final phase of the progressive movement and it features an organization called N.I.C.E. {National Institute for Coordinated Experiments}. The institute is run by a group of bureaucrats who practice pseudo scientific tyranny. Lewis was no doubt inspired in part by Hitler and his scientific experiments which were basically in the field of eugenics. Hitler was going to override the laws of nature and create a race beyond that which God has already created. Hitler’s perfect race would of course lead to a perfect world. We all know how that worked out: Hitler created a hell on earth. The goal of these pseudo scientific bureaucrats is to master nature: gender, weather, energy, etc. Instead of studying the natural world that God created, and responding with worship and wonder; they attempt to create their own world by disregarding the laws of nature and the God who created the natural world. In other words, it is a group of organized and well funded fools. The sad thing here in America, is that they have firm control of Washington and they use our tax money to further their hideous agenda. At the heart of the progressive agenda is their desire to take power over Nature, which will give  them power over people. The power of some men over other men with Nature as the instrument. Lewis believed that sex is the bedrock of society. Gender is the most fundamental reality.

Everyone should know if they are male or female. In every species, God created male and female and they depend upon each other. You cannot have a world where everyone is a male nor can you have one where everyone is a female. The two together create one. What’s going on today is just as unbelievable as what went on with Hitler. God’s truth and reality cannot be altered and mankind will only destroy himself when he attempted to reorder the natural world. This is the same theme Lewis writes about in the ABOLITION OF MAN. Man will ultimately destroy himself in his attempt to be god.

A lot going on today: My sister Holly has her surgery in Huntsville {breast cancer} and we will be celebrating the life of Joyce Chaney at 3:00 this evening. Joyce was the oldest member of DBC in terms of membership. She has been a member for 70 years {Joined in 1952}. We are thinking that Vellene is now our oldest member and then it is probably Joe Fitzgerald. We could be wrong. I will have to see if I can find the records. Joe was a bit shocked that he could be the oldest active member and so was I to be honest. He paid me the ultimate compliment last night after church. It is so sacred to me that I will not repeat it and it would also be vain to do so.  Pray for Joe David and I as we conduct Joyce’s COLS. DBC will be feeding the family after the service. Keep praying for Gregg and Granny Turrentine. Traci has her heart set on Gregg and I singing Sunlight. Granny is going to Moulton for rehab. Not sure when they are gong to move her. Granny is my number one fan. She sees my good points but is blind to the bad and that is the way I like it. She’s been telling everyone who comes in her room: “If you need a good pastor, you need to call Bro. Joe or Bro. Jack…they are the best.” Everyone loves Granny. How can you not love Granny!

The POINT is debt free. We have a note burning ceremony on September 4. Thank you Jesus. Josh baptized four precious souls yesterday. We think the LORD for Josh and the new converts. Josh has a passion and a gift for evangelism. He has an instinctive knowledge of where and when the fish are bitting.
