Scripture
I had heard rumors about You, but now my eyes have seen You. Therefore I take back my words and repent in dust and ashes.
~Job 42:5-6, Holman

Sin turns ugly, and is subject to defeat, only in the light of Christ. The Light of Christ makes everything look different.
~Sam Storms
When two or more of my devotions are on the same subject, I know that God is speaking. Watchman Nee believed there were two kinds of liars: those who lie and know they are lying, and those who have become so obsessed with darkness that they believe the lie is the truth. I assume he is referring to Romans one…God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness. They know the truth about God because He has made it obvious to them… they knew there was a God, but they wouldn’t worship Him as God or even give Him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused... instead of worshiping God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles…They traded the truth about God for a lie. The ultimate judgment is that God gave the over to darkness and a reprobate mind. They are no longer able to discern right from wrong. As a matter of fact they will call darkness light and light darkness.
Job suffered things that I pray no man will ever suffer again. I think he is a type of Christ in that respect. When Job saw Christ face to face and His holiness, immediately, Job saw his own sin which lead to his confession and repentance. Another great example is Saul of Tarsus. He was a deputy working for the Sanhedrin, the most power political body in Israel. Paul was authorized to arrest and imprison Christians. He became their number one persecutor. What’s really bad is that Saul was sincere; he actually thought he was serving God. He was living a complete lie. He was in the dark but did not know it. What brought him to his senses? A bright and blinding light. What was or should I say who was this light? It was Jesus. Once Paul faced the true light of Christ, he saw everything differently. He saw Jesus as the sinless Son of God and himself as the chief of sinners. Paul would love P.P. Bliss THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD IS JESUS…
Come to the light, ’tis shining for thee;
Sweetly the light has dawned upon me;
Once I was blind, but now I can see:
The Light of the world is Jesus!
Quickly: when I had covid back in 20, one of the things I did to recover was take a lawn chair, go behind the house, out of the wind, and sit under then sun. The sun can hurt but it can also heal. This is what we are doing in our daily devotion or quiet time: we are sitting under the Son, absorbing His light. Sarah Young says it is a vital part of our sanctification.

You got love this weather. I can handle 50 by day and 30 by night. Today in Friday the 13th, just 11 more days until Christmas. Keep praying for the sick. Christy had a fair day but her stomack was upset and that causes great discomfort. Pray for Christy. Don Widner’s sister in Cullman is critical. God bless you, have a great day and thanks for reading the blog.
