The Truth

Scripture

Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

~John 8:32, NIV

Quote

The constant problem for humans is to find and adequate basis life in knowledge. By and large, we suffer from a lack of knowledge.

~Dallas Willard

The truth in and of itself will not set you free. You have to look at the context to see what Jesus was saying, “If you hold to My teaching, you are really My disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Truth is absolute, not relative: truth is truth just as a lie is a lie. Jesus is TRUTH and He makes it clear that Knowing the TRUTH is what sets us free.” Jesus said, “If you hold to My teaching, then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.” The truth is of no value unless we KNOW it.Do you think of Jesus as an intellectual? Do you think of Him as the most knowledgeable man who ever lived? If you don’t, you should! Jesus disciples said to Him in John 16, “Now we can see that You know all things and that you do not even need to have anyone ask you questions. This makes us believe that you came from God.” When Jesus confirmed Peter on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, this conversation took place…
The third time Jesus said to Peter… “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.”

If one rejects Jesus, he or she rejects truth. Just as there is no life a part from HIM, there is no truth a part from HIM. I just stated the truth but millions do not know the truth I stated in thought or experience. Western civilization has sit Jesus aside; He, nor His teaching, are relevant. You hear it all the time, we’ve moved beyond the bible and the teachings of Jesus–we don’t need them in the 21st century. The secular humanist consider themselves to be superior in intellect, not only to our founding fathers but to Christ Himself. They fail to understand that knowledge is communal in nature: it is progressive and collective. This is what Paul said to the Colossians, My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Christ is the fountain of knowledge and we have learned from Him as a church for 2,000 years: we have His word and our history and it is a valuable treasure. Study history and see what Christianity has done for Western Civilization: neither Europe are America would be where they are today a part from Christianity. But now, we have outgrown our need for Christ: May God have mercy on our wretched souls and please LORD, send REVIVAL to America.

I am glad to report that our man James Russell is much better. Clyde Gillott got moved to USA in Falkville. I have a busy day today and a trip to Atlanta tomorrow. I didn’t intend for things to get so busy here at Christmas time but it seems to happen every year. Pray for me, I must get the DIGEST out in the next few days.
