Scripture

It is wonderful to be grateful and to sing your praises, Lord Most High!

~Psalms 92:1, CEV

Quote

Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances

~Viktor Frankl

I’ve known two people in my life time who were fond of the word WONDERFUL: Mavis Fitzgerald and Gregg Holladay. When you asked them how they were doing, they answered in one word ‘Wonderful.’ Webster defines wonderful as inspiring delight. Some synonyms are marvelousmagnificentsuperbglorioussublime, and lovely. Gratitude is linked to a person’s understanding of grace. When a person understands their depravity and that they deserve death and hell: they are extremely thankful not to be where they deserve to be. Those who live by the point system stay unhappy because no one measured up to their expectations. They allow every offense, every injustice to get them down. They feel victimized and go through life blaming others for every unpleasant reality: some of them created by their own poor choices. People love wonderful or grateful people.

In reality, everyone has problems. Some people never talk about their problems but that doesn’t mean they are problem free. It could mean they are too proud to acknowledge a problem {which in it self is a problem} but most likely it means they want to be courteous to you by not burdening you with their problems. Giving consideration to others should should be a rule of thumb. We are being very inconsiderate when vent our unhappiness on anyone we can corner. Given time, people will avoid unhappy people. Perhaps you are dealing with unpleasant circumstances; or maybe you are in a situation you have no power to change. When you are no longer able to change a situation, change yourselves. They greatest growth spurts in my life came during times of adversity. Adversity gets our attention and it is practically impossible to learn when you are not paying attention. God is good!

A lot of folks think I am untactful but I want you to watch this video and a preacher goes off on his congregation. I am gentle and mild compared to this cat.
