Scripture
Those sins are like cracks in a high wall. They get bigger and bigger. Suddenly the wall breaks apart. Then it quickly falls down.
~Isaiah 30:13, NIrV
Quote
The deterioration of a government begins always with the decay of its moral principles.
~Charles de Montesquieu
My meeting last Sunday morning with the Trustees was about the cracks in our parking lot. There is one thing about cracks, they grow bigger always, never smaller. Isaiah was making reference to a wall. Most cities in ancient times were protected by a wall; this was their primary defense. Living within the walls gave citizens a sense of security. Cracks in a parking lot or drive way are not good but a crack in a masonary wall is much worse. No city in the ancient world could afford to ignore the cracks; if not attended to, they would ultimately cause the collaspe of the wall.
Sin is like the cracks in the wall. Sin has a tendency to get bigger and bigger; it grows and spreads. It may not bring down a nation immediately but over time, sin will destroy even nations. Taking prayer and bible reading out of school was a fault, a crack in the wall but that crack has grown. We took the bible out and replaced it with evolution and condoms. We took God out of the history books and replaced Him humanistic garbage. We began to defy God’s word on sexual conduct in the 70’s and at the same time legalized the killing of innocent babies. The cracks grow wider. Now we have Obama, same sex marriage, a supreme court that is devoid of moral character, a congress that is bent on getting wealthy, a public education system that once ranked 1st in the world and is now at the bottom, and we are on the verge of electing another disciple of Saul Alinsky {another Christ hating Jewish communist} who believes that the state should be in charge of raising our children.
Yes, I would say the cracks in the wall are growing wider and wider. The thing about a cracked wall is that it will stand for a long time with the cracks growing and running in all direction but one day, one fault will give way and then you have the domino effect and the whole wall comes crashing down. For Babylon, the wall fell over night. In Sodom, it collaspes in a matter of minutes. Ezekiel 22 comes to mind…“I looked for someone who might rebuild the wall of righteousness that guards the land. I searched for someone to stand in the gap in the wall so I wouldn’t have to destroy the land, but I found no one. So now I will pour out my fury on them, consuming them with the fire of my anger. I will heap on their heads the full penalty for all their sins. I, the Sovereign LORD, have spoken!”
How do we repair the wall? Repentance! Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people. [Proverbs 14:34] Pray for REVIVAL in America.
- Dr. Michael Penney had a good post on his facebook page yesterday. I concur with Dr. Penney.
- Bill Harrison update: Based on how the nodules looked, the Doctor said he would not be surprised if there were cancer cells in them. He will do an out patient resection Thursday {Tomorrow} and get as much of the nodule tissue as possible. From there, we wait on the pathology report. After the report, plans will be made for surgery if necessary. Esophagus surgery is a major ordeal; lets pray that no surgery will be necessary.
- Hurrican Matthew: I begin my mornings with a cup of coffee, a honey bun and the weather channel. Matthew should reach Florida late Thursday night and Friday. Of course, my interest is rain but it doesn’t look like Matthew is going to help us, not immediately anyway. I talked to Renee in Mississippi yesterday and she said they are also in a draught.
