Authority, Who Has It?

Scripture

Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations.

~Matthew 28:18-19, NLT

Quote

Make it your goal to live your life wholly in the will of God.

~Jonathan Cahn

I do not want to be accused of imitating the current president of the SBC so I will tell you up front that todays devotions comes from Jonathan’s Cahn’s BOOK OF MYSTERIES {Day 133}. Who has the most authority in an army? I said army, not the nation itself. In the USA, the president in the commander in chief of the military: sometimes this is good but sometimes it is not. In the army itself, who has the most authority? The correct answer would be the highest ranking general. Thomas Todd {Don and Jan Fields son-in-law} is a three star general. Currently we have 163 three star generals in active duty and 43 four stars. Dwight Eisenhower was the last five star. Who has the lowest rank or the least authority in the army? If you said a buck private, you would be correct. BUT there is a time when the PRIVATE exercises the same authority as the GENERAL. When is that you say? It is when the private receives an order from the general; when the private is carrying out the orders received from the general, it carries the same authority as the general himself. Christ is our commander and chief and He has given us orders. As long as we are obedient and are carrying out His orders, we have His authority. Great insight: thank you Mr. Cahn!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. It has been a wild weeks so far…When June at the ER Monday night, Cory spending the night at CRMC last night {BP issues} and Bo Ballinger having to go to HH last night. The good news is that all three are OK. Had a good visit with Terry and Becky yesterday. Becky and I got Terry to smile for the first time in weeks. He rested better at home Becky said. I can understand it: who wants to be in a hospital? I prefer home and be surrounded by family. We can make our plans but the LORD will have the final say about what happens today. I have been greeted with some sort of surprise everyday this week. May His holy will be done.
