Can you imagine what Adam and Eve felt in their heart: they had no guilt. They didn’t even know what sin was, at least not by experience. No one had tempted them to sin or taught them to sin. They were as innocent as a baby. Have you ever looked upon a sleeping infant and thought to yourself, “I wish I could sleep like that, with that peaceful expression on my face.” So, Adam does not know the guilt of a lie or the horrible shame of betrayal. All he knows is that his Creator comes daily to walk with him in the garden. So, Adams conscience is clear, and he waits excitedly to meet with His maker. Then Eve takes a bit of fruit that will change the future of all mankind. Adam willingly joins her in this rebellion. God gave them only one prohibition and that broke it. As a result, they brought sin and rebellion upon the human race. Adam and Eve became Sinners; thus, all their children were sinners.
Can you imagine, in the blink of an eye, these two innocent ones became guilty, and guilt always brings shame and fear. Man, became insecure; even afraid to be honest with God. I long for purity of heart. I long to be guilt free. I look forward to heaven because there is no temptation there, no flesh, no lust or sin of any kind. What a joy it will be to be pure in heart. But perhaps Jesus was not talking about heaven, maybe He was talking about now. I don’t know but I do know this, the purer the heart the better the vision. I know you grow weary of my C.S. Lewis stories but in the Chronicles of Narnia, little Lucy sees Aslan {Jesus} when no one else does. I think it was due to her purity of heart. The pure in heart see God when no one else does.

A little cool snap but that is OK. Officially, it is still winter. Riding to Montgomery today with JD and some of the local pastors. Going to the prayer rally at the capitol.
