By the way, I am a big Patrick Henry fan. He fought federalism and stood up for the sovereignty of the states. His fear was that the federal government would become all powerful and destroy the rights of the individual states. His fear has become a reality. Yesterday I heard Larry P. Arnn, a brilliant man, and president of Hillsdale College make a moving speech. Unfortunately, I did not get a listening device and missed a lot of what he said but I will try to hit the highlights.

Public education is a miserable failure, primarily because of the regulatory state which in our case is the federal government and down. Good education is not regulated. Regulations destroy inititive and hinders the educational process. At Hillsdale, they don’t have rules, they have goals. They have slightly less than 1,600 students and the average ACT test score of those kids is 32. Yes, they are intellects, but they are also smart kids who want to be challenged. There is no political correctness on campus. Dr. Arnn says, “We don’t turn them into conservatives or anything else, we help them learn and we try to guide them into the truth. We don’t teach them, we help them to learn.”

Dr. Arnn loves Churchill and so do I. Churchill said, “The trouble will civil servants is that they cease to be servants or civil.” This is what has happened in the United States. These so called experts in Washington, and down the chain, have over regulated education and they have stifled creativity and destroyed inititive. We have a massive bureaucratic state where only one out of two people in education are teachers. Most of the other 50% are administrators who teach nothing and in many cases do nothing. More than half of our tax dollars goes to the bureaucracy which means it never reaches the class room. The ratio in private schools is six teachers for every administrator. In other words, for every 100 teachers, there are 6 administrators where as in public education it is one administrator for every teacher. Unbelievable!

Is evolution based on natural science or history? No, but it fits their godless ideology. How can any intelligent young person be challenged by such idiotic nonsense. At the least, there should be debate, but you will only see one view in public education and it is that of the secular humanist. The sad thing is that none of us are secular humanist and yet they decide what I children should be taught.

There are a lot of people who are unhappy about the regulatory state and I can tell you one thing for sure: they hate and fear Donald Trump. He would like to deregulate them and so would I. One other thing, we all have a soul, a conscious self, and one of the freedoms of the soul is to make decisions. Experts are people who want to deprive you of that freedom. They want to make your decisions for you. Even our young people are offended by this pompous and arrogant snobbery. Let freedom ring!

Cool again this morning and dry as a powder craig. We need a dust settler. There are some problems with being 75 and one of them is taking showers; it wears me out. I hope you have a great day and thanks for reading the blog.
