Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from Him.[Psalm 127:3] One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so He could touch and bless them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering Jesus. When Jesus saw what was happening, He was angry with His disciples. He said to them, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.” Then he took the children in His arms and placed His hands on their heads and blessed them. Generally speaking, little children don’t have money. Jackson is an exception but when I was a child, I had no money. I didn’t even have money in high school and I sure had none when I was small. Little children don’t worry about money; they leave that to their parents. Children don’t need money, they need responsible parents who will provide for them. If it was not for their relationship to their parents, little children would be in trouble. Children spend little time if any worrying about the daily necessities like food, shelter, clothing and so on.
Children are known for their incredible faith and humility. I do admit, children learn how to pretend at an early age but for the most part, very young children are brutally honest and very humble. They are also very trusting until we give them a reason not to trust us. When you became a Christian, you became a child of God and that is how He sees you. He wants us to trust Him just as a little child trust his or her parents. Every anxious moment is a waste of time and energy. I am far from being a perfect father but I think all my children know that I love them and what I have is theirs if they need it. I am not going to help them with their wants but I will help them with their needs. How much more confidence should we have in our Heavenly Father.
