The coming of the lawless one is apparent in the working of Satan, who uses all power, signs, lying wonders, and every kind of wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.
II Thessalonians 2:9-10
Television is the worse invention known to man.
~J. H. Newby
When I was a boy growing up in Limestone county, I worked with a man I knew as Mr. Horton. I knew him in his late 70’s and early 80’s: He was very strong, very energetic, a very hard worker and old school. He is also the only one who ever called me Jackie. Before TV, people sat on the front porch after supper and before bed time. The front porch was where neighbors gathered and conversation took place–similar to the city gate in the bible. Mr. Horton loved that time of day but when TV hit the country, people [those who had them] gathered around the TV and it destroyed the front porch tradition. Mr. Horton resented this and he said, “Television was the worse thing that man ever invented.” You may think I am being facetious but Mr. Horton may well have been right.
Because of Television, John Kennedy was elected president. I kid you not: it was the TV debate, first ever that did Nixon in. Because of John Kennedy, we have the civil rights act of 1964-65. Yes, I am aware that Kennedy had left the scene but LBJ, one of the sorriest of all presidents continued what Kennedy had started. Read this months IMPRIMIS. You can read it on line. What Kennedy and the democrats began in 1960 has become a powerful and entrenched government within the government and little by little they have pecked away at the constitution. Nixon ran again and won on the platform that he would undo this bureaucratic and none elected group who were now setting policies across the USA with out the approval of congress or the president. This made Nixon a target: he was hated in the same way Trump is hated but not as vocal or public. These bureaucrats who run the country and forced busing in Boston to achieve racial integration, along with the democrats who empowered them and the media crucified Nixon. They Quayled him by bombarding the air ways with negative press. They made him out to be a horrible guy. The very same thing they are attempting with Trump. We all know Nixon was flawed, deeply flawed but what about Kennedy, Carter, Clinton and Obama. The Kennedy’s made their fortune bootlegging whiskey [breaking the law]. John Kennedy’s father was a vile and wicked man: so vile he could have never been elected to anything so he sought power through his sons.
I could go on and on about the flaws of the above but I want to talk about today’s election. Has anyone is North Alabama seen Sessions or Burns? I can tell you the answer: no! Why is this? They run their campaign through the media, mainly TV and this is sad. I am not a TV person so none of the ads are going to cloud my judgment but the great majority are TV addicts. Session and Burns are career politicians. This is what they do for income: Coach Tuberville is a man of the people. He has been on the road and among the people asking for their vote in person. He is not going to Washington for the income: like TRUMP, he is going to donate his salary to the Veterans but he does not have the millions it takes to run a TV campaign. Give this some thought: the WASHINGTON INSIDERS think they can buy our votes. They do not have to campaign the old fashion way. They do not have to get out of their gated community and walk among us. How can they represent us when they don’t even know us or what is going on here in North Alabama. I am for shaking these martina drinking, special interest pork lovers in Washington DC up. I am also for sending the TV industry a message: you do not control how we think or vote. You TV lovers better be glad my finger is not on the red button: I would do away with TV in a heartbeat just to save the REPUBLIC.
The good news is that JESUS IS LORD and the election today is not going to change that fact, hallelujah!
