Don’t Assume

Scripture

Don’t assume that I came to bring peace on the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.

~Matthew 10:34, CSB

Quote

Be careful about jumping to conclusions: you may land on a lie.

There are some lesson that we humans have to learn over and over and then some of us still don’t get it. I had been missing my new $25 dollar ax. I bought one that had a yellow fiber glass handle with a black hand grip. It came up missing. A month or so ago, I had to clean out the back of Squeak and I cleaned behind the tool box: there I found the handle of my ax, yellow with a black grip. Ty, Ryder and Matthew had just had a spend the night party and immediately I assume one of the three broke my ax. So I questioned them and of course all were innocent. I was sure that one of them or all of them was lying. A week or so I ago I was in the garage where I lock up my new tools to keep the thieves from stealing them. I was looking for one thing and accidentally found another. I found my ax, in tack. The first thing that popped into my mind was: you accused those boys of lying and they did not break your ax. I owe all three an apology.

One of the first things I noticed when we returned from Mayberry was my flag pole was empty. My blue TRUMP flag was gone. I went out to investigate and it appears that someone jerked it from the pole because they ripped off one of the clasp that holds the flag on the pole. I am not saying someone stole it; I am saying it appears that someone took it. I walked the ditches but I don’t think the wind blew it off. It just so happened I had bought a new red one at Mayberry but this time I put it higher. Not saying they can’t get it but it will take more effort. Trump haters don’t need to go to Mayberry: they will be offended.

By the way, I took the above verse out of context just a bit. Walking to the office this a.m. I was admiring my new Trump flag and a horrible thought flashed across my mind–“What if he is not re-elected?” My first thought was dooms day; there is no hope if he is not re-elected and then I guess the LORD over ruled my feeble mind. A little voice said to me, “Did you fly a Trump flag before the last election? Did you think Donald Trump would be a good president? Did you not think you were voting for lesser of evils? Have you not been shocked at what I have done through this man? Why are you now assuming that everything depends on him?” I got the message, the LORD is in control, may His will be done. Whatever He decides will be best. As Willard said in the DIVINE CONSPIRACY, “God has conspired to overcome evil with good in human history via the process, not suddenly or in an instant.” Evil may rule the day but God will have the final say. As Luther would say, “You better believe it,” because if you don’t, you are going to be depressed.

Sorry I am late. I left the office abruptly yesterday and did not make it back. I was too tired when I got home last night and then I over slept this morning. The great thing about being semi-retired is you can go to bed when you want to and get up when you want to.

There is an unsolved mystery in the blog above: I have no idea where the look a like ax handle came from and I am offering a reward for information leading to the recovery of my blue Trump flag. I am putting a camera on this flag and whoever gets it will get a visit from the Marines. I could even send Billy, she can bench press 300 pounds. Whoever got it better be glad it was mine and not Big Mama’s. The Marine is over protective when it comes to Big Mama: Don’t ever smart off to Big Mama on Facebook. Just play along. I don’t want to deal with it and you don’t want to either.

Have a great weekend!
