Scripture
“Praise our God, all you slaves of His who fear Him, great and small.”
~Revelation 19:5, Williams
Quote
I had rather be Jesus’ slave than the devil’s minion.
~Ya’akov
Usually the Revelation is the last book I finish when I read through the N.T. but this time it will be Acts or Matthew. I’m not very good at interpreting the Revelation. I do think it is probably the most misunderstood book in the Bible. The first thing I noticed in chapter 19 was the repeated refrain, “Praise the LORD,” which is the English translation for the Hebrew word hallelujah. It is used four times in six verses. When I got to verse 5, I let out a hallelujah myself, “Praise God all you slaves of His.” Sudden joy hit me like a slap in the face. WOW! I am His slave. I belong to the LORD Jesus. He redeemed me from the bondage of sin. He sought me and bought me with His redeeming blood. Paul said in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20: Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.
I’m sure at least one of you is thinking: he is crazy, who in their right mind would rejoice over being a slave? I may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I am grateful that I belong to Jesus and I don’t mind telling you why: [1] He took my sin. Trust me, no one else wanted it or could handle it. [2] He makes all the major decisions; all I have to do is obey. [3] He has given me a hope and a future. [4] He has already given me an abundant life. [5] He is going to liberate me from this body of sin and my wretched self. I can go on and on but you get the picture. I am thrilled to be His slave. There is no better life in my opinion. Hallelujah, I am His slave!

We knew it was coming, just didn’t know when. I speak of the bitter cold weather rolling into the valley with six nights of sub freezing temps. I have my turnip greens in a combine tire so I can cover them. My onions are in the old watering trough so I can cover them also. Our rye grass was beginning to look great. It will survive but lose the lush green texture for a while. The big adjustment for me is the old body. Cold weather is hard on knees and joints. Forty plus with no wind is a piece of cake but the cold plus the wind is a bugger. They are giving snow for next Wednesday.
I hope you have a great Friday. I know the kids are thrilled that they are out of school today. By the way, Big Mama and I have a new Great…Gunner Cash Fagan…an eight pounder born yesterday morning. Baby Mom and Dad are fine.
Brewer boys won yesterday. They pulled away in second half in a blow out. The Brewer coach played every player. They play again Monday night against Gunterville who beat East Limestone by 16 points.
Have a good weekend and thanks for reading the blog.
