You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in Youall whose thoughts are fixed on You!

Hope is a perishable commodity!

~Criswell Freeman

In spite of all God’s blessing, and they are too numerous to mention, we believers tend to lose our hope from time to time. You asks for something repeatedly in your prayers for days, months and years and yet you see no evidence that your prayers are being answered. The you hear tempter say, “Why don’t you give up? Don’t you get it–God is not going to answer this prayer so let it go.” Hope is like a plant; it needs to be nurtured. Hannah is the only one of our girls with a green thumb; the other two are the kiss of death to plants. Holly buys them; then get Lori to set them out and that is the end of it. She never checks on them, never fertilizes them, sprays them for bugs or waters them. When Holly sets out a plant; it is on it’s own and most of them don’t make it. Hope needs nurturing. The bugs of doubt can destroy hope and hope certainly cannot survive when there is a drought of God’s word.

According to Criswell Freeman [PRAYERS TO START YOUR DAY]; you need four things to nurture your hope. [1] You need a steady diet of God’s holy word. You must have at least one verse a day but your appetite will grow once you get into the word. I have no doubt: I would have thrown in the towel years ago if not for the encouragement I get from the word of GOD. Wow, the word is awesome! [2] You need to be faithful in prayer. Jesus taught us to be persistent. He said, “Ask and keep on asking.” The reason Jesus told the story of the unjust judge was that we should always pray and never give up {Luke 18:1}. So just keep on keeping on. [3] Work on your vertical relationship. Become intimate with Jesus. Put your absolute trust in HIM. He is not only your PEACE, JOY, and SALVATION: He is your HOPE. So keep your focus on Him, not your unanswered prayers or your moral failures. The devil wins anytime he gets us to look away from Jesus. Peter walked on water as long as his eyes were on Jesus. When he turned his attention to the waves and wind, he sang like a rock. [4] The fourth thing we need is CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP. A great way to lose hope is to stop attending worship and bible study. Like it or not, we need each other. I know some are too proud to admit it–but we need the encouragement of others. Luke said in Hebrews 10:25, And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of His return is drawing near. Did you notice that last line…Especially now... because we live in trying times. The marxist are destroying the country and we believers need to encourage one another. While the devil’s group sticks together like snow flakes, we are taking shoots at our wounded. We need to encourage one another, not judge and condemn one another. Me saying that is like a kettle calling a pot black. I do admit, I need to easier on others and harder on myself.

EXTRA

It’s October one of my favorite months. I’m sure it is Chloe’s favorite. She loves everything about Trunk-A-Treat and the season. It might rank higher than CHRISTMAS for the Chloe Bugger. It is also Friday for all the work force and school kids. I hope you have a great day and thanks for reading the blog.
