Scripture

“My Kingdom,” said Jesus, “does not consist of what you see around you.”

~John 18:36, MSG

Quote

Ultimately, reality consist of things we cannot see.

~Ya’akov

I like to dabble in philosophy and metaphysics. I use the quote above often, especially at grave sides. Death appears to be the end but in fact, it is the beginning. I would venture to say, most things are not what they appear. Goliath appeared to be unbeatable. Saul didn’t think David had a chance and neither did David’s brothers. Goliath was over nine feet tall. There was more weight in one of his legs than in David’s entire body. In man’s view, Goliath was too big to mess with but David saw it from a heavenly view point and to him, Goliath was too big to miss. The very same thing is true as the Israelites are standing on the banks of the Red Sea. They look trapped but that is in appearance only. Moses looked at it from a heavenly point of view and he did see a trap but it was for Pharaoh and his army. Again the same principal is taught is the raising of Jairus’ daughter. The undertakes said, “She is dead. She doesn’t have a pulse; no heart beat. Her body is growing cold and her face is ashen…she is dead!” Jesus said, “Take a hike, you are full of malarky, she is not dead; she just looks dead to you.” Who was right and who was wrong?

This is what Blackaby called a CRISIS OF FAITH; Jesus says one thing and our logic and senses say another. So who are you going to believe? The undertakers have science and reason on their side but Jesus can see beyond this world to the ultimate reality and it is not death. When Jesus feet were on this earth, He could see clearly what was going on in heaven: you and I cannot but we can trust Jesus. Instead of living in the past, we have to learn to live in the future. Billy Graham said, “This is why God gave us the book of the Revelation, it tells us that sin, death and the grave will be destroyed and Christ victory over sin and Satan will be complete.” As Stephen Covey said, “Keep the end in mind.” The ultimate reality is that light is greater than darkness and will overcome darkness so live in the light.  Jesus is the LIFE and life is greater than death so live your life. Some have already stopped living. You want your cessation of life to match your death certificate. Those who give in to fear stop living long before they die.
