Scripture
Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky.
~Philippians 2:14-15, NLT
Quote
Nothing is so hurtful to the Christian life as pretence; nothing is so blessed as when we become spontaneous expressions of the life of Christ.
~Watchman Nee
Billy Graham visited many of our universities during his life time and his conclusion was: college kids want desperately to fit in. They want to conform. Sometimes they follow fashion at the expense of integrity. In other words, they cease being themselves in order to be like others. They are haunted by the fear of being different. They do not want to stand out like a star on the dark night. I have been there so to speak; I did not make a total surrender until I was nineteen, my second year in college. I got sick of pretending. It is definitely not a good way to live.
When it comes to being a witness in this world of darkness, I don’t grade high, but I want to be a star; not on stage, not in Hollywood, not on the diamond or the gridiron. I want to be a standout for Christ. I want to be different. I think it is an established fact that I revel in my uniqueness but it is also true that jack shines brighter than Jesus at times, and my goal is to lay jack to rest. I want his light to wane and the light of Christ to get brighter and brighter until Jesus shines in me like an illuminary. I have seen this in others but I want others to see it in me.
The acid test is found in Philippians 2:3-4, Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. When we cease to put ourselves before others, we will shine. We will stand out in a world that is every man for himself; a dog eat dog rat race.

Got this message from Christy last night: MRI showed nothing on the spine and the spot that the CT showed was a hemangioma. I was very glad to hear that. Planning to do a needle biopsy on the liver tomorrow {today} between 10 and 12.
Praise the LORD for the good news. Be encouraged but don’t stop praying. Christy has a great attitude and I praise the LORD for it.
Typical Monday except for shot in the knee after lunch. May visit retirement homes today and hospital tomorrow. Good turn out for GPBC last night and I love Bro. Rick. The dude can sing. I couldn’t hear good. A part that is me but there was an echo. I appreciate the other churches letting us in and our folks did great.
I hope you have a good day and great week. Thanks for reading the blog.
