Pilate said to them, “What then shall I do with Jesuswho is called Christ?” They all said to him, “Let Him be crucified!”
~Matthew 27:22, NKJV
Quote
If Jesus is not who He claimed to be, He is a deciever or an egomaniac.
~Billy Graham
Most ordinary people can be ignored without consequence but not Jesus. He didn’t understand the significance of his question, but Pilot asks the question of the ages, “What will you do with Jesus?” He was addressing the Jews and primarily the Sanhedrin {their corrupt high court}, but the question applies to him and all other humans. There is no doubt, the majority claim the gray area; they don’t think about Jesus one way or the other. They are not Jesus haters but nor are they Jesus lovers. They are indifferent: they have no opinion one way or the other.
C.S. Lewis made the point before Dr. Graham, A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic—on a level with the man who says he is a poached egg—or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. If Jesus is not God, what he taught was outrageous and completely insane, yet the world has not cast Him as insane. Confronted by His word, you must make a decision: was He a lunatic, was He a devil, was He a fraud and con-artist or was He who He said He was? This makes Christ inescapable and you have to decide to believe or disbelieve.
