“But from there you will seek the LORD your God, and you will find Him if you search for Him with all your heart and all your soul.”
~Deuteronomy 4:29, NASB

When we diligently seek the LORD; we declare our allegiance to Him and our reliance upon Him.

Isaiah said, At night my soul longs for YOU. Indeed my spirit within me seeks YOU diligently. Jeremiah said, The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, to the person who seeks Him. Jesus said, “For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” Moses commanded the Israelites to seek God; why? Why doesn’t God step into the world of the visible and make Himself known? Why does He not give us empirical proof? Well God did step into the world of the visible in Christ but of course, you and I were not eye witnesses to the incarnation. The first reason that God requires us to seek is found in Hebrews 11:6, It is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that God exists and that He rewards those who sincerely seek Him. Before the foundation of the world, God choose the avenue of faith as our way of relating to Him. Empirical proof would eliminate faith. All I know on the subject is what the scriptures teach and they teach that God demands faith on our part.
I do believe that God wants us to stay in a seeking mode. He wants us to learn to trust HIS Word. Even when we cannot see His hand, we have His word. Relationships can be complicated. I want my children and grand children to know that I love them but frankly, I do not want to be put to the test daily to prove my love for them. I just want them to trust me. I am not positive that the heavenly Father has the exact same feeling, but I do believe He wants us to learn to trust HIM in spite of the circumstances. Seeking is an expression of desire to know Him, to understand His heart, to worship and adore Him. In the process of our seeking Him, our deepest needs are met.

This is one of the blogs that I tried to post last week. Praise the LORD for the rain. It was dry here at 1120 Iron Man. The heat wave is also nice. I mulched leaves in a T-shirt yesterday. Mrs. Edith Bennich has surgery on her right elbow sometime this evening. I visited with Melanie Mitchell briefly yesterday. She was resting peacefully. I was glad Christy got to come to church Sunday night. Pray for her today and everyday.
God bless you, have a great day and thanks for reading the blog.
