Some One Cares

Scripture

I look for someone to come and help me, but no one gives me a passing thought! No one will help me; no one cares a bit what happens to me.

~Psalm 142:4, NLT

If we could understand the deep and infinite love Jesus has for us; we would never feel forsaken or alone.

Calvin Miller said, “One of the leading causes of suicide is the obsessive feeling that no one cares about us.” Almost every suicide note ever written bears the cry, “No one cares.” Miller tells of a little girl who drowned herself. Before she threw herself into the river, she attacked a note to her clothing which read, “I haven’t a friend in this world: nobody cares for me.” An elderly woman was found in her tiny apartment; she had been dead for weeks. On the night stand, beside her rotting body was a journal. The last several entries stated the same thing… “No one came to see me today. No one cares.” Stories like this break my heart. I can assure you that thousands of elderly people died due to the government shut-down. Andrew Cuomo was responsible for 9,260 deaths in New York nursing homes. Someone has estimated that the death toll nation wide {Nursing Homes} was 172,000. I write this blog as a tribute to Ed Zirbel who died during the shutdown because he was cut off from his family and friends. Mr. Ed carried me to more ball games than anyone I recall. My parents never attended sporting events. The meeting at the Marriott last Wednesday confirmed what I already believed: the pandemic and shutdown were all a part of a diabolic plan. The cabal {The Great Reset} wanted Trump out of the way and more power for themselves.

As usual, I digress but the point is–loneliness is a killer. I have a heart for these folks in nursing homes and some are dying of loneliness. I see it in their eyes and hear it in their voice. They go for days without anyone coming to see them. Locally, over half of long care patients do not have regular visitors. Some have no visitors at all. The last project we did at Summerfords; they suggested with start with those who never get a visitor. There were over one hundred. But this only represents one segment of our society, loneliness is no respecter of age. David was a young man, possilby 20 or younger and he felt the misery of loneliness. He was one of the most gifted men who has ever walked the planet but yet he felt lonely. His fickle heart had convinced him that no one cared. The good news is that someone did care. In David’s case, a large number cared. His parents, his siblings and his friends cared. He was alone for a short time but within weeks, his family showed up and before it was over, he had an army of supporters. The real good news is that God cares. He who numbers each hair on your head and keeps up with the number of sparrows knows what is going on in your life and He cares. Jesus left the glory of heaven and came to the lower world because He cares. Had He not cared, He would not have come. Had He not cared, He would not have drank that bitter cup of suffering. If you doubt His care, watch the PASSION OF CHRIST. He suffered the loneliness of hell, so we would not have to.

God is gracious and merciful. His grace was evident to me yesterday. I praise Him for His infinite and excellent greatness. A lot going on, sickness and heartache in every direction. Ministry opportunities abound. Find a hurting person and help them.

God bless you, have a great day and thanks for reading the blog.

Lord willing, Joe David and I are going to see J. Harold Thompson this evening. Harold was injured last week in a tree accident. Remember Gregg and Traci are going to Little Rock this week end and Brent and Melanie to Houston.
