Scripture

You will all be disgraced – you that say that a tree is your father and that a rock is your mother. This will happen because you turned away from me instead of turning to me. But when you are in trouble, you ask me to come and save you.

~Jeremiah 2:27,GNT

Quote

Presumption is the mother of all sins.

Judah committed two sins: they turned away from Yahweh [the real God] and they turned to idols which or not God at all, actually as far from God as you can get. It is never wise to turn our backs on God but this is what they did by refusing to obey Him or to worship Him. The Great I AM’s response…”When you get in trouble, call on your idols and see if they will save you but I know you, when disaster comes you will call on me.”

Following the attacks on the World Trade Centers, we humbled ourselves somewhat but in time the fear wore off and we went right back to our evil ways. Who were people praying to when we were under attack? I guarantee you, people were crying out to the one true God. We aren’t any different from the ancient Jews, are we?

  • Will folks, I am about to hit the PUBLISH button and I don’t know what will happen or what you will see if anything. For some strange reason, Word Press has discontinued my old theme and we had to start from scratch but I hope in time we get the wrinkles ironed out.
  • Joyce Moore is in Decatur General CCI but I think she is going to be OK. I am going back in the morning.
  • Hope you had a happy 4th.

My Daddy was promoted 21 years ago today. He had his faults but his strength was that he loved his neighbors and always wanted to help others. When God first called me, he didn’t know what to think but in time he became my most avid supporter. Any time I was speaking in a revival, I could look for him. He would be there if it was in driving distance. He came one Sunday night a month to hear me preach at Danville as long as he was able. I love and appreciate him more today than I did 21 years ago and lot more than I did 41 years ago.
