TRUTH

Scripture

“And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

~John 8:32, NKJV

There are a dozen views about everything until you know the answer. Then there’s never more than one.

C.S. Lewis

There are several things I can say about TRUTH. [1] First of all, truth is timeless, it never changes from generation to generation. As David says, “Truth endures to all generations.” [2] Truth is absolute. Two plus two is four. He was that way for Abraham and Job and it is the same for us. The Marxist and moral relativist in Washington can revise the history books but that can’t change history. Changing the words in a book will not change the facts. They can mandate integration but they can’t stop segregation. Drive to Courtland and you will see the evidence. All races have distinctive characteristics and you can’t change this fact. You can not force one culture to assimulate into another. You make laws but they will be ineffective. [3] Truth is universal. What is true in the USA is true in Israel and China. Two plus two equals four is true in Russian and North Korea, just like it is in Canada and the USA. [4] Truth is independant. Truth stands on its own feet. It has no need for human verification or human acknowledgment. It is what it is and there isn’t anything anyone can do about it. These modern day liberals are blooming idiots; they think they are perfecting truth and that it changes from one generation to the next. Truth is one of the seven attributes of God. Jesus told them plainly…I AM THE TRUTH. You can’t separate truth from God–He is truth. [5] Truth is liberating. At one time in my life, I became bitter because the church I pastored did not pay me enough to live on and the church was prospering at my expense. Then I heard {in person} and evanglist from Texas {Dudly Hall} speak in Florence, Alabama and he shared a truth that changed my life. He said, “Guys, stop be angry with your church because they do not provide; they are not your provider.” Then he went to Philippians 4:19…And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” He went on to say, “Paul made tents in the daytime and preached at night: are you better than Paul? You go home and ask God to supply your needs, not your church.” This happened in 1978 and it literally set me free from the bitterness and anxiety that comes from inadequate provisions and depending on humans rather than God.

Sorry about missing yesterday. I was a last minute fill in for our daughter Holly. June had to go to birmingham for a test and a doctors appointment and she had to be there at 7:30 so we left here at 5:45. We ate breakfast on the road. Everything went fine. The Neurologist said she is convinced that the medication caused June’s BP to bottom out and she ruled out any kind of seizure. Traffic coming home was worse than going but we made it with some low mumbling but no outburst. I don’t like traffic.

Hard to believe that it is Friday already. A little cooler today but not bad. I hope you have a great weekend and thanks for reading the blog.

GRACE POINT: Tentative plan for the dedication of the fellowship hall is March 12 at 6:00 PM. Since we are having it catered, we will need to know exactly who is coming. No sign up sheet this week but there will be one if we go this route.
