The Earth Is The LORD’s

Scripture

The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it,
the world, and all who live in it.

~Psalm 24:1, NIV

Quote

The great land owner laughs at the title deeds of the worms crawling in the dust.

~Charles Spurgeon

The LORD {Yahweh} created the cosmos and He also governs and sustains it: thus it is HIS. Not only does the earth {tiny planet} belong to Him, but everything on it and in it are His. It’s like the story of the scientist and the LORD. The scientist said to the LORD, I can make things just like You. The LORD said, “Be my guest, make something.” The scientist reached down and scouped up a hand full of dirt. The LORD said, “Put that down, you must use your own dirt.” Listen folks, it is a no brainer, everything belongs to the LORD. The very breath in your lungs is His. The LORD created the visible world and He alone can sustain it. He has full authority over all of His creation. All created things are dependent upon Him. He does not exist because we exist: we exist because He exist. There is no independent living apart from Him. The fact that some do not acknowledge this truth nor walk in it is irrelevant, we are all dependent on Him like it or not.

Those who spend their evenings at a bar or night club are dependent on Him. Those who are rich and famous depend on Him. To rebel against His authority and to live in rebellion against Him is ridiculous. Actually it is foolish. Once this elementary truth soaks in…the earth is the LORD’s and all its fullness…we give up our desire to control, manipulate, hoard and amass. We stop exploiting others is hopes of amassing more for ourselves. I don’t owe a thing but that is not a problem; my Father owns it all and He is a generous Father.

Yesterday is gone PTL. I do not enjoy going to doctors. Had to sit for three hours to get the laser procedure in right eye. I almost complained but the doctor was so nice that I let it go. Why give four people and appointment as the same hour and it seems like I am always the one who has to wait. After two doctor appointments, we did the COLS for Loretta Bomar Swords at Center Springs on Antioch Road. I looked up after the service and there stood Betty Patterson. She is such a sweet lady. She is high on June. She has been a refreshing spirit. Both of her daughters are coming to the POINT.

Today should be a little more like normal. LORD willing, I will be visiting retirement homes and preparing for tonight. Philippians 3:12-14, Pressing on and looking forward to what lies ahead.

The ordination of David {Bill} Biddle this Sunday. Ordination council meets at 8:00 am in the men’s SS class room.

Have a great day and thanks for reading the blog.
