Fellowship

Scripture

And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

~Hebrews 10:25, NLT

Fellowship is two fellows in one ship.

John Phillips says, “God is more impressed with a small congregation meeting together and praising Him than He is a huge assembly of world leaders.” I think John is right. I love Good Christian fellowship. After our services last Sunday morning, I left thinking, “What a fellowship! What a joy divine!” I do love to preach but the sermon is not what moved me Sunday, it was the fellowship. I find myself longing to get to the building where I can sit on the porch and talk to the men as we share stories and greet those who come in. I love our mens Bible Study Class. I get roasted almost every week and I love it. I am so starved for attention that I will take any kind, positive or negative. I am kidding, the men like to mess with me but I would be hurt if they didn’t. When I got to my study Sunday evening, I began rejoicing that June and I have been so wonderfully blessed by the sweet, sweet spirit of Grace Point. I am not given to praise, not praise of people. I am discrete about praise, “he who praises all, praises none.” I don’t throw praise around carelessly. Matter of fact, I don’t do it enough. A lady once told me, “You don’t praise your children enough. You criticize and tell them when they are wrong but you don’t praise them when they do something right.” It ticked me off but the more I thought about, the more I realized she was right. So I want to praise the members at the POINT for loving June and I and for encouraging us with sweet, sweet fellowship.

Extra

None stop yesterday so I had to put something together this morning. I wrote about this in my journal Sunday evening and thought I would share it with the GP family. Only four or five read the blog but they will pass the word. I hope you have a good day and thanks for reading the blog.
