Scripture
Your favor will fall like rain upon our surrendered lives, life showers reviving the earth.
~Psalm 72:6, Passion
Quote
The greatest of a man’s power is the measure of his surrender.
~William Booth
I want to change one word in the above quote and I don’t think General Booth would have any objections: “The greatest of a man’s PEACE is the measure of his surrender.” There is a very popular song that I’ve been hearing at COLS. I think the title is: The Goodness of God. There is a line in the chorus that got my attention this morning…
Your goodness is running after
It’s running after me
With my life laid down
I’m surrendered now
I give You everything
Your goodness is running after
It’s running after me.
If you really want peace; if that is your deepest desire, then surrender your life to Christ completely. Don’t hold back anything for yourself. Give Him absolutely everything. Your land, your home, your dreams, your children, grandchildren and even great grandchildren: every single thing. Jesus never comes second. If you have put anything before Him, it must be surrended immediately.
Perhaps you are thinking: I can’t do that preacher, I have too much and I can’t give it up. Oh but you can and you will. The only question is when? You can give it up now and have peace or you can live in fear the rest of your miserable life. There is no such thing as a disturbed surrended life. The lack of peace is a lack of surrender.
Perhaps your response is one I’ve heard before: “Preacher, I lay my head down and sleep like a baby.” My response is–“So did Jonah but the devil rocked him to sleep in carnal security.” Don’t mistake carnal security for peace; they have different origins.

I wrote this blog last Saturday morning while a gentle rain was falling outside my window. Aren’t you thankful for gentle rain! God’s grace is like gentle rain falling from above. TYJ!
I shared this thought last night at DBC but decided to post it today in case you wanted the quote. The four points of the am service were: Fear Sits, Faith Walks, Doubt sinks and Grace lifts. {Matthew 14, Peter walking on the water}
Don’t forget to pray for our cancer warriors. I hope you have a great day and a good week.
