Scripture
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
~Hebrews 11:1, NASB
Quote
There comes a point where the mind takes a leap and comes out on a higher plain of knowledge, but cannot prove how it got there. All great discoveries have involved this leap.
~Albert Einstein
The intectual world wants to base everything on knowledge but this is a mistake. It omits the metaphysical, the supernatural and the infinite. You cannot know God, not through the intellect. Perhaps God could work that way but He chooses not to: His way is faith. It is impossible to relate to Him a part from faith. God the Father did make Himself visible in Christ but Christ is now in heaven and the presence we have with us is the Holy Spirit and He is like the wind. We can see His affects but we cannot see Him. I can see the tree tops swaying in the wind but I cannot see the wind that moved them. We will never know God through empirical data or by the scientific method. God demands faith and only faith will please him.
Noah built a boat where there was no water to float it. He was preparing for a flood but there had never in human history been a flood. When he started preaching the ‘flood’ people laughed at him. It had never rained so how could there be a flood. For over a hundred years, he worked on the Ark without a cloud in the sky. That my friend is faith. Abraham loaded up a U-haul and hit the road without having a clue as to where he was going. He trusted God to lead him and He did. We cannot possibly please God when we don’t trust Him.
Did Noah know for certain that it was going to rain forty straight days? No, be he firmly believed what God had revealed to him but he had no empirical data to back it up. Did Abraham know where he was going? No, but he trusted God to reveal this to him once he got on the road. Paul said in Romans 8, But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. Take the leap of faith: trust Jesus with everything you have and with every fiber of your being.

My good buddy Jim {59 years old} was at the COLS Monday and then got sick during the night. He is at Huntsville Hospital room 406. He was feeling good when I was there yesterday but they still do not know what caused him to hurt. He had extreme pain in the abdomen. Jim has a lot of history. He was in Japan when MacArthur was the SCAP {Supreme Commander of Allied Powers}. He said MacArthur made the Emperor of Japan wait in line for an appointment. When the Emperor did get an audience with the Commander: MacArthur told him, “You lost the war. You will remain as a figure head, but you have no power.” Basically, “If you want anything, you asks me.” According to Jim, MacArthur was a character. Jim has lots of good stories.
Love the weather. Just right for me. Have a great day and thanks for reading the blog.
