Scripture
Praise the Lord, all you angels in heaven. Praise him, all you who serve him and do what he wants. Let everything the Lord has made praise him everywhere in his kingdom.
~Psalms 103:21-22
Quote
Human voices alone are not sufficient to praise the LORD adequately.
~Artur Weiser
I understand that in the mega churches, you have to audition to get entrance into the choir. In other words, Barney Fife or Jack Bailey wouldn’t be in the choir. There is another choir, a universal choir and it is infinitely larger and greater than First Baptist Dallas choir or any other mega church choir. You don’t have to audition; all that is required is your robe, the white robe that Jesus gives us when we put our faith in Him and His precious blood. Daniel Estes says and I agree, “The first giant step toward spiritual backsliding is to forget what God has done for us.” When we forget His goodness and mercy, we become half-hearted in our praise and worship. This is what I see in every church I visit or serve. I strain to hear the voices of my people simply because they do not sing with joy and enthusiasm. They sing like they are afraid that someone will hear them and some do not sing at all.
Those who refuse to sing, refuse to praise and those who refuse to praise have a deep spiritual problem called ingratitude. Many times, those who are gifted remain silent while those of us who are not are vocal. What we fail to understand is that God is not impressed with talent or ability. Men grade us on our ability but not God. It is the heart and the attitude that God is concerned with. If you don’t like singing, you will not like heaven. If you want to sing in the choir and no one has asks you to or your church doesn’t have a choir, don’t worry about it–there is a celestial choir made up of both men and angels. All the redeemed can sing in this great universal choir. When can you join? Today, join the angels and start singing. One day the trees of the field will clap their hands as all creation will praise the Infinite Creator. Jesus said in Luke 19:40, {after the Pharisees protest the praise and worship Jesus was recieving} “If they kept quiet, the stones along the road would burst into cheers!” Are you are going to let a rock or a tree give him more praise than yourself. Get in the choir ASAP!

Cooler weather is great, TYJ! Forty-Niner luncheon today at 11:30. Our leader has another obligation but we are going on full speed. Ma Kroger’s southern fried chicken on the bone. Chickens don’t have fingers or nuggets either. We do chicken right. I heard a preacher say once that he did not like fried chicken. I told him he was not God called. All real preachers like fried chicken. {JK}
You never know. There were some among last Sunday who were in crisis and I had no clue. God used the message without my awareness. I was actually speaking to myself but God used it to convict others. All I can say is “Praise God from whom all blessings flow.”
Heard an interesting story this week. Husband tells the wife concerning their marriage, “This is just not working [she had gotten hooked on drugs], I am ready to go a separate way.” She was as mad as an old wet hen and started threatening him. He listened for awhile and then left. As he left, she was in the door hollowing threats. She said, “You are going to lose, this divorce is going to cost you.” After he left, she set the house on fire but it burned faster than she had anticipated and she barely escaped the flames. It came so close to burning her that it sienged her hair. The moral of the story is don’t do drugs. You could lose your spouse, your house and your hair.
