Scripture
O Lord, I am your servant;
yes, I am your servant, born into your household;
you have freed me from my chains.
~Psalm 116:16, NLT

A king stand over us; a mediator stands between us, but an advocate stands with us.

Psalm 116 paints a wonderful portrait of a soul set free to enjoy the goodness of the LORD. A few days ago, I saw this picture is a way that I had not seen it before…Here is the parable that came to mind…
Death, cold grim Death, sneaked on to the plantation and over powers one of the Master’s servants [bondslave] and puts him in shackles. The slave was so bound by the chains of anxiety and fear that he was no longer free to serve his master. The Master heard the servants cry of anguish and came to his rescue, he broke the chains {bonds} and set His servant free. Now the servant is liberated from the fear of death and he is able to render his devoted service to his Master. By the way, the Master is righteous, merciful and full of compassion. {Psalm 116:5} The slave is so happy to be free that he joyfully served the master. His attitude is gratitude and his praise is public. He loves his master and feels endebted to Him and thankful for Him.
It may be a comfort to know that Jesus came onto the plantation as a servant {bondslave} and he suffered the horrors of death. Peter mentions this at Pentecost…{Acts 2:24}
But God released Him {Jesus} from the horrors of death and raised Him back to life, for death could not keep Him in its grip.
Don’t forget, the MASTER is good. Our salvation is in HIM. We are saved from sin, Satan, death and hell because He is good. If He was not good, He would not have cared about our fate. He did not have to come to our rescue, He chose to. Wow! What a wonderful Savior is Jesus my LORD; He has taken my burdens [chains] away.

A wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord;
He carries my burdens away,
He’s holding me up, and I shall not be moved;
He’s giving me strength day by day.

June and I stopped by Ma Krogers yesteday evening to get the buns. As we were checking out, the lady at the register said to June, “You look familiar.” June said, “Yeah, I come to Krogers every week.” I chimed in, “More like every day.” And that did it; she went off on me in front of the LORD and an unadmiring crowd. I turned to the audience, mostly men, and said, “This is what happened after you have been married for a few years.” That guy standing next to me said, “How long have yall been married?” I said, “fifty-four years.” He said, “I have you beat, I have been married for 60 but I have learned to keep my mount shut.” I said, “I haven’t learned that yet.” We had a big laugh. June had already exited the store.
I hope you have a great day and thanks for reading the blog.
