Ironically, Jesus was born of the tribe of Judah and thus was not allowed to serve as a priest in the sacrificial system of Judaism. This means, while on earth, He never entered the Holy Place or the Holy of Holies. In the sacrificial system, the Jewish priest offered thousands of sacrifices and over a period of time, it would be millions. But as the writer of Hebrews states in 10:4, “It was not possible for the blood of bulls and goats to really take away sins.” Every Jewish Sacrifice up to the death of Christ was pointing to Christ sacrificial death on the cross. In other words, the sacrifices made by the Jewish Priest were types, symbols and shadows of the real thing which was Christ. As the writer said in 8:27, “Jesus finished all sacrifices for all time when He sacrificed Himself.” This means that Paul was out of line when he went to the temple to offer a sacrifice to please James and the others. By grace, Paul was arrested before he could commit sacrilege. To offer additional sacrifices would be a slap in the face of Christ and borders on demonic worship. I for one, would not dare take part in such.
It is not shocking to me that Titus, the Roman General, put and end to the Jewish sacrifices when he destroyed their Temple. In Hebrews 9:14, the bible says, “Christ willingly gave Himself to God the Father to die for our sins and He was perfect, without a sin or fault.” No sacrifice prior to Jesus was perfect and none since have been acceptable either. No wonder Zionist are not fond of the book of Hebrews. I am not a prophet, nor the son of a prophet but I think it is very safe to say–God will fulfill every promise made to man through JESUS. It is my belief and it is a strong belief; that God will fulfill every promise to Abraham, the Jews and the nation Israel through JESUS. Any religious or act of worship, a part from Jesus will be sin. This I believe.
- Romans 8:28 was in force today or yesterday. It is 12:02 as I type. We made good time in our drive to St. Louis, got to hotel before the evening rush. June was checking us in while I got the luggage and the guy at the desk, says, “We have a problem. Your reservation is for July 26-27, not June. You are a month early.” I did not panic, I called Anthony our booking agent and he found us better rooms and did it in less than 10 minutes. They give me directions to the next hotel and they were bad. It is pouring down rain and the traffic is beginning to get worse. I pull over and type in the new address on my GPS and it gets us there. THANK YOU JESUS and Anthony. It all worked out for good.
- Until we get to the Stadium after and hour and a half delay. The Cards bomb Klubber. The game is over after the second inning but at least Big Mama was happy. I guess we are even since my Tide beat her Bulldogs in the only game that really matters. Baseball is a pass time: ALABAMA FOOTBALL is the real thing.
- Big Mama is afraid I will give you the details of her sickness but I am not going to do that: I will say this, the epidural has made it hard for her to walk and the Stadium is almost a mile away. I going to rent us a rickshaw tomorrow.
- Catfish: I thought I was going to have to call you. I fouled up my computer first thing trying to download a radio apt. I finally got it restored: Romans 8:28 again. HAVE A GREAT DAY.
