Drink No Water

Scripture

Drink no longer water.

“My doctor told me to drink more water, so I started putting ice cubes in my diet pepsi.”

I do a light blog every now and then. All work and no play makes Jack a dull fellow. As most of you know, I do not like water. The only time I have a thirst for water is when I work in the heat. I prefer almost anything other than water. I am not crazy about gator-aid but I drink it. It helps prevent cramps. My beverage of choice is Diet Pepsi but I can’t drink them due to a bad stomach from drinking too many in the past. Currently I am down to decaffeinated tea and a starburst orange which is water with carbination and I can drink only one per day. I have been able to drink coffee for the last couple of months but it is one cup per day. You can’t imagine how much I look forward to that single cup of coffee.  When I came across I Timothy 5:23, I jumped for joy. The scripture commands me to drink no water. It is nice to know I am being obedient in one area at least.

Well folks, that would be taking the scripture out of context just a tad. Good water, which was not abundant in Timothy’s day, is the most healthy thing you can drink and it is good for any diet. We can make the scripture fit our lust by taking them out of context. Bro. Inman used the following example: “Judas went an hanged himself; do thou likewise, and whatsoever thou doest, do it quickly.” It is all scripture but taken out of context. Context is very important. Interpret the word in light of the sentence, the sentence in light of the verse, the verse in light of the chapter, the chapter in light of the book, the book in light of the Bible. The Bible in light of JESUS {redemption}, the theme of the Bible. We view everything through His perspective. My advice is drink more water and read more scripture.

Folks it is hot at 1120 Ironman. It was 74 degrees at 5:00 am when I came to the office. It doesn’t take a lot of summer to please me. I’ve had enough heat already and it has just begun. Lincoln had a better day: thank you for praying. Pray for two days in a row with no fever. Pray for all our cancer warriors.

Today is hump day: I hope you have a good one. Thanks for reading the blog.
