Everyday Faith

Scripture

For we walk by faith, not by sight.

~2 Corinthians 5:7, NKJV

Quote

“Faith is a living, daring confidence in God’s grace.”

~Martin Luther

Billy Graham’s December 15 entry in PEACE FOR EACH DAY is very fundamental. We recieve Christ by faith. It is a metaphysical experience. We may not see anything, hear anything or feel anything but when we trust Christ in repentance and faith, He via the Holy Spirit takes residence in our life and things are going to change. What we learn is that one faith experience is not good for life: the LORD has designed us to live by faith, to exercise faith daily or actually, moment by moment. In this world, we do not graduate from the school of faith. Each day we are to trust Christ just as we did initially.

Over time several things are going to happen. First, Jesus is going to become predominant. He will become the most important person in your life. Secondly, our love for the Bible {His word} is going to grow and our hatred for sin is going to increase also. The more we love Jesus, the less we will think of this world. We will get to a point where we despise ourselves and long to be like Christ. Christ will get bigger and our self with get smaller. He will increase and we will decrease. Things that once excited us will become boring and mundane. Things we once treasured will become trash. As these things happen, you will know that it is God’s grace at work in you.

The stars were bright this morning. I look up as much as I can but I get dizzy if I look for a prolonged period. There is a heat wave coming; the high today is 54 and yesterday was not as bad as I expected. I was going to burn of the three brush piles at Holly’s. I had my tractor grapple on sight. I lit the first and while I was not looking, the grass caught fire. No problem, I had a big yard broom so I start putting out the grass, but the first spread from the other side to and then we got a puff of wind and she was gone. I fought it for 30 minutes. Had to move my tractor, then looked and it was already under my truck. I ran and got in the truck and moved it. Not real smart on my part. Holly got home right in the middle of the excitement and it wasn’t long till everyone knew. I did have to call 911 and get the Fire Department. I want to thank the Lacey’s for responding quickly. I almost burned down a subdivision. Two of Holly’s neighbors helped me and I am grateful. No burning today. Folks it is dry on this side of the county. We need rain. Holly back yard is black. I told her one good rain will fix it.

Another Christmas Party today; hallelujah! I love Christmas. Ty and Josie have games at West Morgan tonight.

Have a great day and thanks for reading the blog.
