Rebellion is rooted in our fallen nature. You can see it in the heart of a child but unfortunately, we do not outgrow this spirit of pride that drives us to do things our way. Psalm 2 has been a favorite of mine for years, “Nations, kings and rulers rebel against God and against His anointed [Jesus]. Their attitude is expressed in verse 3, “Let us free ourselves from His rule.”{GNT} “Let’s cut the ropes and set ourselves free!” {CEV} It is the same attitude the people of Judea had in the days of Jeremiah, This is what the Lord says: “Stop at the crossroads and look around. Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it. Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls. But you reply, ‘No, that’s not the road we want!’ {Jeremiah 6:16}
Psalm 2 is expressing the desire of kings, rulers and powerful people. These elites, who hold offices in high places, are not rebelling against us [the impotent and powerless working class], they are rebelling against an authority higher than their own. They are defying God. They are cutting all restraints. They are cutting the ropes that bind them to the mother ship. They want freedom to sail the high seas in their puny craft without any direction or restraint from God. Alexander Solzhenitsyn said {Gulag Archipelago} men have four basic drives or lust: [1] Food/water [2] Sex [3] Greed and [4] Power. Men {humanity} lust for power over other men. Solzhenitsyn said the difference between a good leader {Ronald Reagan} and a bad leader {tyrant} is that a good leader understands he is under rhw authority of an infinite being. Tyrants don’t see anyone above them.
Obama/Biden do not fear any accountability to God and they reject the authority of scripture and the principles that governed our founding fathers. The Marxist in Washington DC don’t want to be connected to Jefferson, Franklin, Adams or Washington. They want to cut the ropes but it is not simply the founding fathers and our American traditions that they loathe. They are rebelling against God.
The Progressives/Marxist are doing great harm to the Republic and it is disturbing to God-fearing, tax-paying, freedom-loving Americans, but the Marxist is Washington are not disturbing God, they are entertaining Him. [But the One who rules in heaven laughs. The LORD scoffs at them. Psalm 2:4] God sits on His throne in heaven and laughed at their idiotic foolishness. A fool is one who thinks he is being admired when actually he is the object of scorn and laughter.
Yesterday was a DAY OF PRAYER FOR AMERICA and our places of worship should have been filled with praying believers but they were not. Morgan Baptist have one meeting place and we had about 30-35 people show up. We are indifferent. We are all wrapped up in the wrong things and we don’t care about the right things.

Ken Nelson is being moved to Palliative Care with the emphasis on comfort. I think you know what this means. Five weeks ago he was up and about and feeling rather good. The good thing is, he is ready to go. The kids are really taking it hard. Pray for Bill and Donna.
Too wet to plow. I was able to plow the corn yesterday but unable to work most of the garden. I think we must have gotten 3 inches of rain the other day because the garden was extremely wet. I tried hard but finally gave up about 6:00 last night. I can’t complain about the rain. At least I got our corn plowed.
