Scripture
Children’s children are the crown of old men,
And the glory of children is their father.

I don’t really long for the good old days although it is true that things were very different when I was a child: no TV, no inside bathroom until I was six, no cell phones or I-pads. No cabel TV or internet. The Eugene Bailey’s had no A/C and no carpet. A/C and carpet did exist at the time but we didn’t have them and considered anyone who did as being wealthy. At the age of 16, I had never had a pizza or steak and thought gay described a happy person. As a young person I never dreamed of being old. I don’t think I was disrespectful to the old but I certainly did not understand nor appreciate them as I do now. Just because something is old doesn’t mean it is bad, useless or disposable. One of my favorite people, a lover of the Digest and the most conservative member of a wealthy family, was promoted on Thanksgiving Day some ten years ago. She lived in a nice house, nothing compared to these mansions people are building today and when she departed every room in the house was the same as it was when they moved in in 1960. Other than family photos, same pictures, same furniture and even the same salt and pepper shaker on the kitchen table. That is 55 years with the same salt and pepper shaker. This woman was not a miser and I would not even call her frugal, she was gloriously contented with the old.
Billy Graham testifies that his wife Ruth was the same way; she loved old things. She treasured her childhood memories of being an MK in China. Her grave stone has engraved on it the word “Righteous” in the Chinese language. She had many physical problems before her peaceful departure and Dr. Graham says, “She suffered physically but departed peacefully and was looking forward to meeting Christ face to face.” She believed that when we stand before Christ, we will be righteous as He is righteous. It was not self-righteousness that lead the family to engrave “Righteousness” on her grave stone; it was their faith that upon our death or His return, He will by grace make us righteous. In other words our glorification proceeds our standing before Him. I had never thought of it that way and think the Grahams are right. No wonder the song writes said, “Oh that we be glory for me.”

Jambalaya supper tonight at 6:00. I am looking forward to it. We will be inside so a little rain will not hurt us. We have a light mist all night and it registered .01 on our gauge. There is a hurricane in the gulf of America so I do expect more within a week.
If you get the Imprints, you will note the article on Charlie Kirk. Charlie completed 31 online courses at Hillsdale. Dr. Arnn is going to award him an honorary degree and furnish scholarship money for his children. If you read the main article, you will see where 58% of democrats believe that Trump should be assassinated. Yes, the left believe that violence is necessary to achieve their goals. Sounds a lot like Marxism to me. Elon Musk didn’t fair much better, 48% say it would be justified if someone killed him. Wow! The vast majority of large cites that are crime infested are run by democrats and they do not want Trumps help in restoring law and order. If you are on Facebook, look up Victor Davis Hanson and THE DAILY SIGNAL, “What would it take to destroy the United States.”
Busy day LORD willing: Cullman for dentist appointment, retirement homes, a meeting with Big Bob, Stew {DBC}, one delivery and then the Jambalaya supper at the POINT. It is in memory of Bill Smith.
I hope you have a great day and thanks for reading the blog.
It is raining now at 1120 Iron Man….Thank You Jesus! {4:57 am}
