Scripture
If a bird sees a trap being set, it knows to stay away.
~Proverbs 1:17, NLT
Quote
Knowledge is knowing what to say; Wisdom is knowing when, or when not to say it.
~Ancient Proverb
There is a distinction between wisdom and knowledge. Knowledge is the collection of information, facts, learning and experience. Wisdom is the application of knowledge. In other words, knowledge can build a nuclear weapon but you need wisdom to know when to employ such a weapon. So knowledge and wisdom or two different things and it is possible to have one without the other. Mark Antony had knowledge; he knew the art of warfare and the art of command but it was his folly that became his undoing. The same can be said about Lot or Solomon. They had knowledge but it was folly that destroyed them. Lot didn’t lose everything but he lost most everything: his home, servants, position on the city council, his wife and his bank account. It was all his own doing. Solomon lost his legacy. Instead of everyone remembering him as the wisest man, we remember a wise man who became a fool.
The term “Bird Brain” was popularized by the Three Stooges, but actually birds have more wisdom than humans. When a bird sees a snare, it flees. It does not flirt with temptation, it flees temptation ASAP. One of the growing sports here in North Alabama is turkey hunting. The wild turkey is not an easy kill. A domestic turkey is easy to kill; you don’t even need a gun. Not so with the wild turkey, unlike its barnyard cousins, the wild turkey is elusive. It can run [up to 25 MPH], fly and swim. It is adroit on the wing and can fly 55 MPH for at least one mile. Wild life experts believe that the older the wild turkey gets, the harder it is to shoot, because the bird learns the art of avoiding the hunter’s snare. Solomon married 1,000 snares and eventually, they got him. Not very intelligent for a wise man, right? If you see the devil’s snare, flee in the opposite direction.

We lost two blogs yesterday due to internet shut-downs. I piggy back off of the house system and I think our router may be bad. I hope to get this one posted before we start having problems today. Today’s blog is an old draft that was never published. I have no idea when I wrote but it was not recent.
Supposed to get up to 70 degrees today. Yesterday was fine for me but a little cool for Big Mama. She could live on 78 year round. Jo Ballinger may have a procedure or a surgery today. They had not made a final decision when I left yesterday and it is too early to text Bo. I think Bo does most of the cooking but they could probably use a little help about now.
Yesterday was a marathon for this 67 year old. I got so tired around 2:30 that I didn’t think I could go but someone the LORD gave me new energy and I got some things done that I didn’t think I would get to. I may or may not be going back to HH today. It all depends on the surgery.
Have a great day and thinks for reading the blog.
