Too Late

Scripture

Therefore, let all the godly pray to you while there is still time,
that they may not drown in the floodwaters of judgment.

~Psalm 32:6, NLT

Quote

Your sin is too big for you to handle alone.

~John Philips

Anytime I read anything about the Kennedy assination or the Titanic, I perk up. Two very tragic, yet fascinating stories. Movies and stories about the Titanic abound but John Philips shared one that I had not heard. According to Philips, the Californian sent its sixth ice warning to the Titanic at 11:00 pm. The wireless operator on the Titanic ignored the warning; matter of fact, he didn’t even bother to send the message on to the bridge. The RMS Carpathia got the distress call from the Titanic at 12:25 which is about 30-45 minutes after the Titanic struck the iceberg. It took the Titanic only two hours and forty minutes to sink. The RMS Carpathia got there about 4:00 am and rescued 705 persons who were in life boats.

The Calfornian was much nearer, some think in visual sight, but they shut down their communications for the night. When the SOS signals were sounded over the radio waves, the Californian didn’t get the message. I guess you could say the operator on the Titanic was both over confident and careless. He didn’t appreciate the Calfornian’s advice to slow down and he was rude to their operator. After that sixth warning and his rudeness, the Californian hung up and shut down. By the time the Titanic realized they needed help, it was too late. Have you ever heard those distressing words…”Its too late.” We are all bad at procrastination. Whatever we need to do, we better do it before we hear those words, “Too late.”

Extra

PTL we got some wonderful and precious rain. We got 0.61 yesterday and since midnight, we have 0.41 with a slight possibility of getting more later this morning. I do not see anything heavy on the radar but another system is headed this way. It has the rye grass shinning. Getting a little better each day. LW we will be going to Tanner late this morning to get a tractor part. The LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting.
