The Church And The World

Scripture

But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God’s OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaimthe excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

~1 Peter 2:9, NASB

Quote

The essence of the Christian faith is to believe that Christ’s righteousness is sufficient and I am in Christ.

I came across something very interesting in John Philips commentary on Proverbs. Evidently John spent some time in Haifa {seaport and city in Northern Israel} and attended a small church on the slopes of Mount Carmel. June and I got to visit this site back in 1990. We stood near Elijah’s cave and looked out over the Mediterranean Sea which is a beautiful blue sea. The make up of this small church was very diverse: Jews, Arabs, British, Germans, Russians, Armenians and Americans. John testifies that they were one in the Spirit and got along beautifully. Is this not a testimony to the power of Christ. When you put a Russian with a German, you normally have problems. John said these brothers and sisters loved Jesus and each other. Wow! Is this not a demonstration of the power of the gospel!

Contrast this with the world. Satan is the god of this world and he stays busy sowing hatred and strife. He keeps everything stirred up. The world is filled with pride, deceit, crime, violence, innocent bloodshed, persecution, murder, hate and on and on we could go. All community organizers, like Obama, know that anytime your form a mob violence will eventually break out. George Soros and his marxist friends know what mobs will do. They know how to organize them and to excite them but they are well aware of the fact that the mob cannot be controlled and violence and destruction are simply a matter of time. Now you tell me why any good person would organize a mob?

Yet one hundred thousand Pro-Lifers can march down Pennsylvania Avenue and there will not be one act of mischief or any violence. The difference between BLM and the Right to Life March is the leader, the invisible one behind it all. Satan stirs pride, hatred, racism, deceit, etc. He is the ultimate trouble-maker. He is the god of the mob. Jesus brings men together and teaches them to love each other. His power to do so is absolutely amazing.

Fall is here: cool mornings and less sunlight. We left church at 6:35 and we barely got home before dark. The time change and puzzle season is just a month away. I hope you have a great day and thanks for reading the blog. Pray for Charity and Josh.
