There is and will always be some apprehension about the future. We humans can know the present and the past, that is as long as we have memory, but we do not know the future. No human knows what will happen before this day ends. No one knows what will happen next week or next month. Someone asks me Monday about the upcoming presidential election…“Who do you think will win?…the man said. I said, “Trump, I hope but I have my doubts, not that he will get the votes but that the democrats will cheat again.” Are they going to cheat again? Will they be as successful this time as last? Will Michelle Obama, wife of the emperor, be on the democratic/marxist ticket? I do not know and neither do you. The same man asks be if I thought Michelle Obama would end up on the ballot. I told him, “I would not be shocked but I do not know.” I do know that the media will continue to lie but I do not know how the election will turn out. So, if I were to tell you that I am not in the least bit worried or anxious about the election and the future of our country I would be dishonest.

I don’t usually correct Chuck Swindoll, he has forgotten more than I know but our security is not that we are holding God’s hand; our security is that He is holding ours. A few years back a praise and worship song became popular and I thought it referred to us holding on to God. I had never watched it on YouTube and Joe David sent it to me just after I posted this blog and I saw my mistake. The song goes I AM holding on to you. Whoever typed the words on the screen {years ago} did not capitalize I am and I thought it was referring to us, but it is I AM in caps and this is the English translation of the sacred name Yahweh. We are not holding on to God, He is holding on to us. His Right Hand {Jesus} has our right hand. Jesus said in John ten… My sheep listen to My voice. I know them, and they follow Me. I give My sheep eternal life. They will never die, and no one can take them out of My hand. My Father is the one who gave them to Me, and He is greater than all. No one can steal My sheep out of His hand. You might want to ask yourself, “How big is God’s hand?” Let me answer the question for you: it is infinite. He has all of creation in His hand. There is a song that I remembered and it too is theologically correct: the chorus goes like this…

Extra

It may not be a normal day for me with Tybo playing at Wallace at 2:00. I don’t know who gets the most anxious about these games, Ty, his daddy or his granddaddy. Either way it goes today, the Bailey’s have no reason to complain.

The memorial service for Leldon Chasteen went well yesterday and I appreciate your prayers. I felt the presence of the LORD in the chapel and at grave side. I have lost a good neighbor and I will miss him for sure.

Tried to download the Crowder song for you but it would not allow me to do so. David Crowder…I AM Holding on to You. It is theologically correct. So if you read the blog earlier, I stand corrected. Couldn’t load the Crowder song but this one is great…
