Man has knowledge but only God has foreknowledge.
~Ya’akov
Knowledge is not evil; matter of fact it is good. Knowing the truth can set your free from many things including anxiety. Fortunately for us, the bible, like Christ contains treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Let me give you some examples of things we can know:
- Luke 5:32–“I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners and need to repent.”
- John 8:32–“And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
- John 10:14–“I am the good shepherd; I know my own sheep, and they know Me.”
- John 14:4–“And you know the way to where I am going.”
- Romans 5:3–“We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance.”
- Romans 5:5–“For we know how dearly God loves us, because He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love.”
- Romans 6:6–“We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin.
- Romans 7:18–“And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. I want to do what is right, but I can’t.”
- Romans 8:28–And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
There are many more scriptures but you get the point, there is a lot we can know but we do not know the future. I’m thankful God has not given me foreknowledge. Sure, I could use the gift to break Vegas and then Vegas would put out a contract on me. I think God protects us by not allowing us to see the future clearly. Jesus saw His and it was a heavy burden to bear.
I just finished reading the prophecy of Zechariah and it is filled with prophecies about Jesus. Some have been fulfilled and some are to be fulfilled when Jesus returns. There is a lot of uncertainty when it comes to interpreting prophecy but one thing we KNOW, it is all about Jesus. As Paul told the Romans in chapter 11, For from Him {Jesus} and through Him {Jesus} and to Him {Jesus} are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen! So what is the world coming to? The answer is JESUS!
- Can you believe it, a heat wave to close out October and usher in November. The Weather Channel is saying that our first cool spell will be November 11. The high tomorrow is 87 and they say it will stay that way for a week with no rain in sight.
- It has been a marathon week but hopefully things will let up and we will get some things done on our building. We are running out of time.
- COMMUNION this Sunday morning and TRUNK-A-TREAT this Sunday night.
