David had his faults but he also had strengths and one was his intimate relationship with God. David understood some simple truths most folks miss. David understood that God as Creator is familiar with all the complex details of our existence. He who fashioned us in the dark and private sanctuary of our mother’s womb, knows all about us. It was God who created man, not vice versa and so God knows everything there is to know about man. He knows the anatomy, the heart, the needs, and the deepest parts. God knows more about you than your medical doctor, your psychologist, your spouse and yes, even yourself. As a matter of fact, you don’t know you at all until you get to know HIM. You can never know yourself until you first get to know Christ. He and only He can reveal you to you. In other words, your life cannot possibly be fulfilling if you don’t understand who you are in Christ. You will never finding happiness trying to be someone you are not. Ask the Prodigal Son, he tried to be someone he was not but he eventually came to himself. The worse thing you can do to yourself is rebel against God.
- Only bad thing about holidays, they go by in a hurry. It’s Saturday already which means preparing for Sunday. We scratched the deacon’s meeting. No deacon’s meeting. We do have two baptisms that I know of but they may be more.
- Other than deacon’s meeting, we will have a full schedule tomorrow including AWANA tomorrow night @ 5:30.
- Keep praying for rain. They say we have a good chance next week. We need one good rain just to break this cycle.
- Today is Seth’s birthday. Hard to believe we have a 23 year old grandson.
