Jesus In The Psalms

Scripture

Now is the appointed time, LORD, for Your compassion and mercy to be poured out–the appointed time has come for Your prophets’s promises to be fulfilled.

~Psalm 102:13, TPT

Quote

The LORD {Yahweh} was before and separate from His creation of heaven and earth and He will again change and renew them. {Just like changing a garment, 102:26}

~Martin Luther

I really don’t remember how long ago it was that I first read that Jesus was in all the Psalms but I do remember having a bit of doubt. I don’t know how many times I have read through the Psalms in the last ten years; my guess would be twenty times or more and I am tell you, I see Jesus in the Psalms more each day. When I read verse 13 last night, my first thought was–“We don’t deserve His compassion and mercy,” but this prophecy has already been fulfilled by Jesus at Calvary. Mercy there was great and grace was free. God displayed His compassion and mercy through Christ vicarious sacrifice on the cross. This is not an unfulfilled prophecy, it is a historical fact. If His death is not compassion and mercy, I don’t know what you would call it. But one of the amazing things about David’s prophecies is that he did not see a second advent; he only saw one but in the Psalms, many of the prophecies are about the second advent, Jesus return to earth.

We see a second advent prophecy in verse 16, “Yes, You will reveal Yourself to Zion and appear in the brightness of Your glory, to restore her and give her children.” Do you see what I see? First, in Christ return, He will reveal Himself to the world. Even the Jews will know Him as Messiah and LORD. Second, He will manifest His glory. We are going to have a huge “Glory Reveal” party.  What Peter, James and John saw of the mount of transfiguration, we all shall see. Christ will radiate with God’s glory. Right now, we can’t adequately define splendor or majesty but we will understand it when Christ returns. Third, Christ will restore. He will fix everything that is broken. He will make all wrongs right. He will establish a new order.

I would like for you to pray for my neighbor Leldon Chasteen; he is very, very sick. His condition has changed drastically in the last ten days. He was doing fine just a few days ago but he took a turn for the worse.

For the GRACE POINT family: our fellowship hall is going great. I have a feeling that all the framing will be finished by the weekend. Charles did the walk through on the second phase yesterday and we will be closing the books with Genesis Construction soon. We want to thank Bill and David for a good job. I was anxious to get the door cut into the main building but I think Charles will wait due to safety reasons.

Two offering into our Guatemala Mission Trip we have enough for one plane ticket and I think we need nine more. I know we need at least seven. We have twelve or so Sundays left to give so there is not need to panic.  Some one asked me Sunday how much is needed to sponsor one person and it is $1,000.00. This will be air fair and everything else including food and lodging. Each person will need spending money during travel. You may eat once on the plane but if so it will be light. The flight is less than four hours. You will need to buy one meal in an airport and those are not cheap. I will tell you this, you will not find an international trip any cheaper. GRACE ministries takes care of the lodging which is a tremendous blessing. If we had to stay in a motel and eat in restaurants, the trip would be three times as much. I’m not twisting arms but I am asking you to give it prayerful consideration. June and I are going to sponsor one person but we are giving through the weekly offerings.

Have a great day and thanks for reading the blog,
