Scripture
Many people want to speak to a ruler, but justice comes only from the Lord.
~Proverbs 29:26, NLT
Quote
“Justice is truth in action.”
~Benjamin Disraeli
We all want justice in life or so we think–what we really want is mercy. A monk in Mother Teresa’s order came to her complaining. He claimed that a fellow monk was spreading rumors about him that were not true. I love Mother Teresa‘s response: “Oh, just forget it. Think of what he would say if he knew the truth.” Michel de Montaigne, the French philosopher once said, “There is not a man alive who, if his innermost thoughts were made public, would not deserve hanging ten times.” We may cry out for justice but what we really want is mercy. Nevertheless, for an orderly society to function, we must have justice. Max Anders says, “Justice is the equitable application of moral standards to everyone. If laws are not just, if judges are not just, then life is a wild foray into the unknown and the unpredictable.” Chuck Colsons says, “The Christian goal is not power but justice. We are to seek to make the institution of power just, without our being corrupted in the process.”
Solomon made it clear, “Justice comes from the LORD.” If laws and decisions don’t reflect the character of God, they are not just. George MacDonald wrote, “Justice, to be justice, must be much more than justice. Love is the law of our condition, without which we can no more render justice than a man can walk a straight line in the dark.” God made laws because He loves us. The law has always been for our benefit, not His. Our constitution {law of the land} is an inspired document which may be one of the reasons it is so hated by the left; It has a scriptural base. Good laws are always emanations of God’s law. The so-called “Right to Privacy”…which lead to the right to kill a baby is a horrible law. Where is the love of God in the termination of the unborn. As Christians, we must cry out for justice. The unborn deserve the same right to live that we were given.
Chloe came home from pre-school a few weeks ago quoting the Pledge of Allegiance…“I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.” The only problem is: she wants to quote it for money. The left, who apparently have never read Psalm 139, claim that the unborn or not persons, and therefore not protected under the constitution. Shocking as it may sound, Supreme Court Justices swallowed this liberal lie and made killing the unborn a legal right for women. Not only have they ignored Psalm 139, they have ignored Matthew 25…“If you did it to the least of these, you did it to Me.” Unborn babies are tiny persons: they are just as human as any liberal or supreme court justice.
Vickie Tidwell is in Cullman Regional Medical Center, room 417. I think it is pneumonia and sepsis. Don Garner has been in HH for a week or so but he came home last night. They want to move my cousin Karen to Birmingham but now she has a blood clot along with all the other. GOLDEN GIRLS this morning at 9:30 a.m. Have a great weekend.
