Scripture
For Christ must reign until He humbles all His enemies beneath His feet and the last enemy to be destroyed is death. For the Scriptures say, “God has put all things under His {Christ} authority.”
~I Corinthians 15:26-27, NLT
Quote
“If I had one sermon to preach, it would be the LORDSHIP of Jesus Christ.”

There is a parallel passage in Hebrews 2: So God has put everything under him. Everything is under His control. We do not now see everything under his control. But we do see Jesus already given a crown of glory and honor. He was made a little lower than the angels. He suffered death. By the grace of God, he tasted death for everyone. That is why he was given his crown.
This Day in 2000
I went to Montgomery for a ralley or to lobby against a gambling bill. I didn’t record the outcome. Bought my first lap top which is all folks are using these days. Believe it our not, I was trying to lose weight 17 years ago: I did 100 push ups, 200 curls and ran two miles. That will not happen again. I will do one pull up and one curl tonight. Pull up the covers and curl up on my body pillar.
I have a story to go with the above thought: Back in the early 90’s when Slick Willy was in the White House, I went to see my father who was in the hospital at Athens. He shared a room with a black man and that man’s pastor was visiting with him when I walked in the room. Immediately, daddy appologized for my beard {which he hated}. He said, “This is my boy, he is a preacher, he will not shave as long as Bill Clinton is in office.” I gave daddy the hush sign but he doesn’t get it and he just keeps talking about my disgust of Clinton. I began to try to change the subject but he would not let up. The black pastor could see my anxiety. I thought daddy understand that blacks are block voters and they vote democrat no matter who is running. But daddy wouldn’t let up. The black pastor stood to his feet and began moving in my direction. I kid you not, he must have been 6’8″ and weighed at least 300 pounds. He put his big arm around my head and pulled my face toward his. I was praying silently for God to give me the courage to die like a man. He said, “Son, I have some good news for you. You are worrying in vain because Bill Clinton is not in charge, Jesus is in charge.” I breathed a sigh of relief, then I said, “I knew that, but somehow I have not been acting as if I knew it and I am convinced that the Lord sent me here tonight so you could remind me of this great truth.”
