Over the years Psalm 2 has become, if not my favorite Psalm, the one I refer to most and for good reason. This Psalm is quoted more times in the N.T. than any other, 17 times. There is an obvious reference to Jesus in verse two, The kings of the earth prepare for battle; the rulers plot together against the LORD and against his Anointed One. The Hebrew word for anointed is mä·shē’·akh which we pronounce messiah and the N.T. counter part is the word Christ which means “Anointed One.” You and I know that Jesus of Nazarene is the Messiah, the Anointed One. The world system with all its political leaders are set in opposition to Christ, God’s anointed One. This is not a conspiracy theory, this is fact and it should be clearly understood by all true believers. I am absolutely amazed that people who profess to know Christ can be in harmony with the world’s views.
Jesus tells a story in Luke 19 which links the Jewish Religious leaders to this conspiracy against God’s Anointed. “There was once a man of high rank who was going to a country far away to be made king, after which he planned to come back home. Before he left, he called his ten servants and gave them each a gold coin and told them, “See what you can earn with this while I am gone.’ Now, his own people hated him, and so they sent messengers after him to say, “We don’t want this man to be our king.’ The AV reads, “We will not have this man rule over us.” Folks, this is the world view: they do not want Christ ruling them. However, the man was made king and he came back and held these rebels accountable. The Jews, a very religious people, working along side Pilate [a pagan] and Herod [a hedonist] took part in the conspiracy to crucify Jesus.
Nothing has changed. Caiaphas and Annas are in hades along with Pilate and Herod but the Jews are still leading the persecution against Christ and all his followers. Like Caiaphas of old, they stay hidden in the shadows but behind every Antichrist movement in America is Jewish money. If you don’t believe me, do your own research and find out for yourself. This world system is not Christ friendly. The world, like the Jews, is religious and not offended when people talk about God because they have their own definition of God but when you begin talking about Jesus in the public arena, look out–they hate the sound of His name. Ophra Winfrey is religious but her definition of God is not the same as yours. Tim Tebow was not shunned by the NFL because he was a bad football player, he was shunned because he did not follow political correctness. He spoke of Jesus openly and they hated it. Does it not amaze you that they did not shun those who desecrate our flag and refuse to stand for the National Anthem. They would not have acted at all had there not be an outcry from fans. The NFL are aligned with the world.
I have some news for this world and all the unfortunate souls who align themselves with the world’s view. Jesus is coming back and He is going to rule them. They will bow the knee. His authority will be such that every knee will bow, not out of love and adoration but out of shear fear. These people will continue to be defiant but they will bend the knee even though they will refuse to repent. Humans have the same defiant spirit that Jesus spoke of in Luke 19, “This man will not rule over us.” But, the man Christ Jesus will rule over them and everyone else. My prayer: Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will Be Done!
I do praise the LORD for the rain and warmer weather. It was 46 degrees last night. It felt like summer to me. Had a busy day yesterday, 10 hours of none-stop activity which is not easy for a 68 year old but the LORD’s grace was sufficient and He enables us to fulfill our duties. The older I get, the more I feel pressure and anxiety, especially at COLS. That’s one reason I like to work with Tim, he never gets nervous about anything. I can do only one thing at a time and so I focused first on teaching Anthony’s LCBS class and then the Nursery and then to Athens for the COLS. Yes, I feel a huge sense of relief when a day like that is over. Thank you for your prayers.
I went to Athens thinking that Betty Croley Moyers had 10 surviving siblings. Little did I know that another sister had passed away yesterday morning. This family of 13 lost two in 6 days. Something similar happened to one of our WEE Care workers last week. I can’t believe it, six days until CHRISTMAS.
