Scripture
“You have said it yourself; nevertheless I tell you, hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.”
~Matthew 26:54, NASB

There are two kinds of people in this world: those who worship sin and those who are weary of sin.

The above scripture are the words of Jesus standing before Caiaphas. In reading the Geneva Bible on Sunday, I came across Matthew 26:3-4, “Then assembled together the chief priests, and the Scribes, and the Elder of the people {Sanhedrin} into the hall of the high Priest called Caiaphas; and they consulted together that they might take Jesus by subtlety, and kill HIM. Matthew tells us in chapter 27:20 that their goal was to destroy Jesus {Geneva Bible}. They did kill Jesus, but they did not destroy Him. As to the trial before Caiaphas, they couldn’t come up with any evidence so Caiaphas ask Jesus, “Tell us whether You are the Christ, the Son of God.” Jesus could not deny His true idenity and the above verse is His response. Jesus told Caiaphas, “Hereafter you will see…The Son of Man enthroned and coming on the clouds of heaven.”
At His first coming, we judged Him but when He returns, He will judge us. During the incarnation, Jesus was a servant but when He returns, He will come as the King. He was a Lamb in the first advent but He will be a Lion is the second. Harvard graduate and Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist Walter Lippman once stated: “For us all the world is disorderly and dangerous, ungoverned and a apparently ungovernable.” Alexander the Great, Napoleon, Lenin and Hitler all tried to govern the world but failed. No mere man can govern this planet, but it can be governed and will be by the man Christ Jesus. He will do what no other man can do. Thus He is our only hope.
I like president Trump. I loved hearing Ronald Reagan speak and PR wise he was the greatest president of my lifetime but he was a politician to some degree. I think his statesmanship outweighed his politics, but I don’t think any president has been more open and honest with us than Trump. I pray for Trump and thank God for him but he cannot govern the world. It is not because he is so hated; they hate Jesus even more. It is because he doesn’t have the power. When Jesus returns, He is coming back with power. A hurricane or tsunami is nothing compared to the power of the Almighty. Trust me, every knee will bow and no one will have to tell them to bow. No one will challenge Him. His power will be so overwhelming that rebellion will be out of the question.
