Scripture
How frail is humanity! How short is life, how full of trouble! We blossom like a flower and then wither. Like a passing shadow, we quickly disappear.
~Job 14:1-2, NLT

Without faith life is meaningless.
Leo Tolstoy
Billy Graham knew President Ronald Reagan personally. Reagan almost died from an assissination attempt and the experience really made him aware of his mortality. He told Dr. Graham that he was dedicating the rest of his life to the LORD. The LORD saved Reagan from the assissination attempt but eventually alzheimer’s got him. It is the way life is; even when we are saved from a fatal accident or a dreadful disease we are still going to grow old. Our skills will diminish and things will become more and more difficult. It gives me out to take a shower. So even if you avoid the accidents and the diseases, old age will get you.
The unbelieving world clings to bio {Physical life} but bio is destined to fail. We need faith in something more. We need Zoe, spiritual life. As Paul says in 2 Corinthians 4:16, “That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day.” Adam in you is dying but Christ in you is alive ever more. I like what Paul told young Timothy, “For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come.” {1 Timothy 4:8} I am not opposed to physical exercise but we must face the fact, it will not preserve our bio. So, you had better set your sights on something other than the gym.
Lets face it, life has us and the only way out is Jesus.

We got a little rain since midnight: every little bit counts. Another good day of worship and rest yesterday, PTL. We have a lot to be thankful for. The next three weeks will be busy, busy, busy, but I love it. Tis the season to be jolly.
Lord willing I will be pulling out in Big Mama’s Buick around 8:00. I am headed to Saltillo, Mississippi to visit with Mrs. Inman. I was at Sardis Springs Baptist church for my first twenty years. My first pastor was Martin Ray, Elree Waldell was the second: then there was John Crawford, Jack Wood {David’s uncle} and then Bro. Calvin Coolidge Inman. Mrs. Crawford is in the nursing home and Mrs. Inman is with a nephew in Saltillo. Both are 96 years young. Mrs. Inman is as sharp as a tack.
I hope you have a great Monday.
