Peace Like A River

Scripture

If only you had paid attention to my commands. Then your peace would have been like a riverand your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

God’s desire was to bless Israel and make them the most prosperous nation on the planet but these blessings were conditional: to get them, Israel had to be obedient. Unfortunately, Israel had a spirit of rebellion. Isaiah reminded them of their history; they had been rebels since their birth in Egypt. They rebelled against Moses and God in the wilderness and this became their habit. The LORD gave them instructions on how to live for their own benefit {48:17} but they refused to pay attention to His guidelines. They would not listen nor obey. God was patient with them. He gave them the law to guide and instruct; he sent the prophets reprove and correct-they broke the law and persecuted the prophets. They were their own worst enemy, then and now. You will not read this in a government text-book but Stalin killed more Jews than Hitler, four million more. Why does Hitler get all the bad ink while Stalin is never mentioned? Most of this is due to the Jews controlling the media and the rich Jews have an affinity for communism but that is beside the point. Stalin did not gas the Jews in Russia, he starved them to death. The fool did not realize that these Jews made up a large part of the Russian economy. By murdering the Jews, he cut off the hand that was feeding his mouth. Most of the Jews he starved were very productive farmers. Russia suffered famine for years due to Stalin’s idiotic behavior. God is a good, good Father to all but if we break His law, His law will break us.

The Jews could have had peace like a river instead of a holocaust. God’s plan for them was to prosper them in the land of Israel, not Russia or Germany. The Jews were dispersed from their homeland due to their disobedience. Had they been obedient to God, they would never have been scattered all over the world. Like all rebels, they choose their way instead of God’s way. They opted for their pride over His peace. I don’t know about you but PEACE LIKE A RIVER sounds wonderfully good to me. Peace is a precious gift and it is the one thing the Jews don’t have to this day. They have the gold but unfortunately, they don’t have God. They are an anxious and fearful people. Their extreme paranoia causes them to fear the wrong things and embrace the wrong things. I asked a Messianic Jew some ten or fifteen years ago, “Why do the Jews in America support the democratic party when the democratic party is pro-Islamic?” This is what he told me. They associate the Religious Right which is a part of the Republican party with the same kind of extremism that was in Hitler. They believe that Hitler came from the religious right. He said, “They fear you guys {Religious Right} more than they do the Muslims.” Is this insane or what? These people or not morons but their fear of the religious right is moronic. At the same time, they embrace the democratic party which is Pro-Palestinian. Hitler was a devil worshiper and here in America, he would come closer to being a democrat than a Republican. Of course Hitler, who had some Jewish blood hated communism but he didn’t hate socialism. So there you have it: the Jews could have had PEACE LIKE A RIVER and they opted for PARANOIA LIKE PLAGUE.

Isaiah closes chapter 48 with these prophetic words– THERE IS NO PEACE FOR THE WICKED [REBELS]. To have PEACE, you have to make peace with the PRINCE OF PEACE.

Horatio G. Spafford wrote a beautiful hymn that begins with this line, “When peace, like a river, attendeth my way, When sorrows like sea billows roll; Whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say,
It is well, it is well with my soul.” Haratio was a Messianic Jew born in New York City. He was a lawyer and businessman. He moved to Chicago in the middle of the century and had a thriving law practice. He lost his first son at the age four to Scarlet Fever. Then feeling a need to have his family vacation in England where his friend Dwight L. Moody was going to be preaching, he sent his wife and four daughters on ahead and he planned to join them later. The steam powered ocean liner they were on sank in the North Atlantic and only his wife survived the tragedy. As he sailed to meet his wife, he was inspired to write the beautiful and soul stirring hymn, IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL. Spafford was an elder in the Presbyterian Church. After the tragic death of his daughters, he started a Messianic fellowship and eventually moved to Israel where he died and was buried. Look at the words while you listen to the music.

Here’s why I voted for and support Trump. Yes, he’s a bit of an ass; yes, he’s an egomaniac; but I don’t care. The country is a mess because politicians have failed miserably. The Republican Party is two-faced and gutless, and illegals are everywhere. I want it all fixed!

I don’t care that Trump is crude.

I don’t care that he insults people.

I don’t care that he has changed positions.

I don’t care that he’s been married 3 times.

I don’t care that he fights with Megan Kelly and Rosie O’Donnell.

I don’t care that he doesn’t know the name of some Muslim terrorist.

I just want this country fixed and Trump is the only guy who seems to understand what We The People want and need. I’m sick of politicians, sick of the Democratic Party, the Republican Party, and sick of illegals. I just want this thing fixed!

Trump may not be a saint, but he doesn’t have lobbyist money controlling him; he doesn’t have political correctness restraining him; all we know is that he has been very successful; a good negotiator; he has built a lot of things; and, he’s also not a politician.

And, he says he’ll fix it. And, I believe him because he is too much of an egotist to be proven wrong or looked at and called a liar. Oh yes, I don’t care if the guy has bad hair.
