A Future And A Hope

Scripture

For this world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come.

~Hebrews 13:14, NLT

Quote

“Those who have a ‘why’ to live, can bear with almost any ‘how’.”

~Viktor Frankl

Everyone needs something to look forward to, we call this hope. Regret looks backward but hope always focuses on the future. This is why Jeremiah put the two together when he wrote to the exiles…For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. On the other hand, Solomon said, “The wicked have no future,” therefore they have no hope.

Difficult circumstance are hard to cope with, especially when you feel that you have no control, but when we have no control over our circumstance, we do know that by grace God is working to change us and make us more like Christ. The good thing is we are walking through a valley of shadows and one of those shadows is death but we do not have to fear evil because Christ is with us and it is just a valley, not a destination. We are going through it, but we are not stuck in it. This sin cursed world is not our home. My heavenly home is bright and fair, I feel like traveling on. There will be no sin or pain up there; O yes, I feel like traveling on.

Short blog today. I have begun this day behind but thankful. My, my, my what a beautiful day. I must remind you that we have friends who are hurting. People like Bull Flowers and family. Also pray for Ken Nelson. Bill texted late last night. Ken was slightly better. The entire family is tired. Also pray for Brent and Melanie Mitchell who are in Houston for cancer treatment.

The LORD is good. I hope you have a great Monday and a great week. I do appreciate our readers just like I appreciate those who listen when I try to preach. Pray for our world to get hungry for the gospel. Pray for Israel. Pray for the United States because if we don’t back Israel, we will pay. Pray for God to raise up a godly leader. At least one who will listen to spiritual counsel and support Israel and Trump did both.
