Hallelujah!

Scripture

After that, I will give you a shepherd from the family of my servant King David. All of you, both strong and weak, will have the same shepherd, and he will take good care of you.

Mankind fails and fails consistently but God will never fail.

I must admit that much of Ezekiel is a mystery to me. I don’t know much about Gog and Magog or Meshech and Tubal but chapter 34 is pretty clear. It is an indictment against pastor’s or shepherds; spiritual leaders I guess you could say. Judah collapsed from moral failure and the spiritual leaders were partly responsible. They had become vain and self-centered. They did not care for the sheep. They took advantage of the weak and they placated the powerful. They also ignored the hurting and they did not go after those who wandered from the fold; neither did they protect them from the various predictors. They were in fact, sorry shepherds. When all is said and done, man is a dismal failure. About the only thing you can count on in terms of our consistency is failure.

Israel the nation failed: they were disobedient and rebellious. Their kings failed, their priest were also failures and in Ezekiel 34 we are told that local spiritual leaders like modern day pastors failed. The good news is–Although we fail miserably, GOD NEVER FAILS. This truth should put a smile on your face: your pastor may let you down but not your SAVIOR. The LORD told Ezekiel, “Don’t give up, there is hope, I Myself will send you a GOOD SHEPHERD from the family of David and HE WILL CARE FOR YOU! Hallelujah, Jesus is the Good Shepherd that God promised Ezekiel.

Chloe is boycotting school due to extreme heat. She told Big Mama last night: “It is going to be 105 and that is too hot, I am not going.” I am with Chloe, it is too hot for school and too hot for football practice. We start way too early but these pseudo educators who make these lame decisions don’t ride buses in 100 degree weather.
